The dungeons have a plethora of issues. These run the gamut from health percentage abilities hitting a player for more than 150% of their life. And yes, Ymiron’s is fixed, but others are not. Those are from a normal mob in Blackrock Caverns, which I already reported, to Karsh, in the same dungeon, having his AoE hit harder than it would have in Heroic Blackrock Caverns when it first came out.
That boss also exemplifies a growing problem I am seeing more and more. You can avoid the party dying if you know how to move a boss around. You just graze the pillar and KEEP moving. I have seen an experienced take pull it off, but every other tank just stops as soon as HE is clear. Those same tanks, before the boss, were pulling multiple groups without care.
I have another character who I keep at low level to show the problem. That level 10 mage is unbeatable in dps because of the level scaling that exists. It exists for a good reason, below ~level 15 you have so few abilities and weak gear that it helps you stay alive and move at a good rate. It also, unfortunately, also makes you take less damage. And here is the problem, tank do a lot of damage early and take very little damage.
It is teaching new tanks that they do not need to worry about any mechanics at all. I just did a Halls of Stone on my level 49 mage. We had a tank who was at the lowest level to do it, and he didnt wait for the group or healer to finish getting quests. He just ran in and pulled the first 3 groups. He died quickly; the group died quickly; the healer left quickly.
I have seen this pattern way too much now. They get so used to low level power that they do not learn anything.
I do not see a good fix for this barring a hidden debuff to low level character in dungeons to bring them more in line with what a max level character would experience. And note, I am not saying make them weaker than higher level players, just bring them into line with them.
And honestly, how it plays right now with bad tanks is making we want to do dungeons less and less. If you pull intelligently for your group, your group pulls stupidly for you.
