This is worth the 8bit soundtrack that needs to be muted during the fightsâŚand now I need this pet!!!
âŚthey could change the battle tracks too or give me a pet battle jukebox like the garrison so I could set my battle theme. That I wouldnât mind.
thats a pretty good idea
customizable pet battle music that is
Blizzardâs internal metrics. They see everything people do in game. They have the data.
Iâve gone out of my way to participate in a lot of pet battle content. The only thing I havenât touched yet are the pet battle raids. They came out while I was on a break from the game (Late BFA through Shadow Lands).
Theyâre getting rid of wild pet battles. But wild pets that are actually worth catching beyond just to have are really really rare. Like really uncommon that an actual useful battlepet for battling is just wandering around. The good stuff drops from raids, the cash shop, achievements, secrets and rares.
Not sure what ending wild pet battles from Midnight forward will change.
lol y u so mad bro
i saw ur other post in another thread and it was just as pointless
if u have the attention span for the whole line u would see there is still more engagement than mythic raiding
so question still holds
I donât think you know what the word âmadâ means.
i think u right here
however i think for most it isnt about what is good or bad
it is about the activity of catching them
and maybe givin more reasons to do so
i think ppl donât like the idea of just throwing a box and calling it a day
ya i didnt expect u to engage w/ the point
case proven
where would you get this idea, when theyâve said theyâre not planning to change it?
Kneeshooter linked it, itâs included here) a blue EU post by Klavix seeking feedback on pet battles as they are seeking to make changes to increase engagement.
Tell me that I can cross breed them and Iâll go and get the 4 battle pets I have face down in a sealed mason jar filled with water right now and spare them.
Just for more motivation each of these poor little pets is your top 3 favorite most cutest.
There are a billion things to do in game. Why do people insist on pet battles, I dont get it.
Are you over 40 and like pokemon? well you can always sub to a adult entertainment website and play other pokemon games at the same time.
Itâs not as complicated as you make it out to be. They like this type of content. There you go. Mystery solved.
What a weird thing to say, and what an odd thing to pair up. However, if you struggle with the concept of people doing something because they like it, then I guess that is par for the course.
archaeology, was a snooze fest.
what it needed was actual game play elements.
like, we could have been in a digging game where you carefully extract a item.
you direct the dig towards the suspected item relevant to your goals.
do you want to uncover what seems to be an old pot?
or maybe aim for that bone sticking out of the ground.
wait, is that a metallic object?
game play.
What you described wouldnât increase long term engagement, it would just change the system without fixing the underlying issue: pet battle content has no replayability. Youâd get bored just as easily with what you proposed, while taking up a ton of dev time changing the system so heavily.
I posted about increasing replayability last night, and went into ways to improve it so players are more likely to engage with the content repeatedly and throughout a season. If you have suggestions that do that, I think Iâd appreciate hearing them.
Boring and snorefest are not motives to change a system. Seriously, using boring as an excuse for anything is a tactic for six-year-olds on their mothers. It is way too subjective and so on. Building a case for change, which I like in these forums, is great though!
