then kudos to you i shouldnt be punished for wanting to min max every spec i play…and i do play all of them
It’s a stupid design and theory when it comes to competition.
Imagine if you were playing Halo and you permanently couldn’t pick up the BR because you picked up a Needler earlier, and for the entire duration of Halo’s lifespan, you had to use a Needler.
You’re not wrong, but I have doubts about how much Blizz cares about balance in anything competitive looking at how much of a lead the best classes/builds have in M+, arena, or heck even visions. If that were among their concerns the gap would be negligible.
That’s fair. I was more teasing, but you are right. There isn’t anything wrong with min/maxing. It’s a legit style that lots of people enjoy.
Just another busted BFA idea giving us a terrifying red flag of how the expansion will go
Seriously, not trying to be that guy but not alot of people can do another BFA
i have doubts too man but i like to be optimistic and SL class design in general looks really cool (some classes need some work though ill admit) so it would kind of suck for them to sour it with this system imo because the expack as a whole looks promising
play demon hunter, only one dps spec. And tanking isn’t an option.
Imagine having to make a choice that means something. Just imagine.
Imagine having to do this every day in your life and then when you want to play a game to relax you’re forced into stupid choices as well.
Weird. As a 2K IO player, I never decline Warlocks if their IL/score is good. Maybe it’s a you/casual thing
Well if you want to play a game involving only numbers, just smash your head on a calculator and save yourself 15$ a month.
heh…so I guess when we hear people screaming not being able to find a tank we WONT have to listen to this CRAP JOKE “just tank then” in here anymore.
Imagine that you’re such a terrible player that one spell means the difference between raiding Heroic and Mythic, or dying in PvP.
It’s just that one spell that makes you horrible.
Sounds like bad players looking for an excuse to still being bad.
Its a pre-excuse.
Pathetic.
its a casual thing because even at the low key levels people buy in to the “meta”…which is my whole point here. if you make an off meta pick for your covenant ability even casuals are gonna decline you from groups because of player perception.
why are 90% of alliance priests dwarves in classic? aesthetics?
this has always been a part of the game, and as the game has evolved more choice has been added to how you can approach your character and how you want to play it. even the big dog ion himself said they want this expansion to be about “player agency” and choice…and the system as it stands is a direct contradiction to that so hopefully they look at it deeper than they did with azerite gear before BFA
It seems like the biggest thing he could do for choice would be to defeat the meta-dominant mentality for good. I have no idea how to do that or if it’s even possible, but that seems like the real issue.
Guess you’ll just manage your own run and set the rules you want
I think this is 100% good game design. not being the best at everything (is not like one ability will be top DPS at every situation some will be better at ST, some will be better at burst, others at MT) all the time and instead have peaks. You get into the raid anyway because your ability is best for 3rd boss while another guy’s is best for 2nd boss, etc…
It could be really fun and it’s a great idea by blizz, but the community is going to ruin it sadly.
one way the could do it is with the soulbinds (extra talent tree w/ covenant)
like for example…i like to raid, do m+, and arena…so lets say i like doing arena more right?
so i went for abomb limb in the necrolord covenant because i am a wheelchair boy and i need things closer to me so i can kill them, but now i have to run a 10 key to get the best reward.
maybe the soulbinds will implement something to where abomb limb also does damage but doesnt have the extra grip effect? like a trade off? idk best idea i could come up with
See, it’s a vicious cycle.
The bleeding-edge, world-first raiders set the standard. The rest of them copy that, yet their adamant that it’s ‘the only way’ despite the world-first raiders figuring out what works by themselves and establishing that ‘normal’.
That’s why whining about Covenant abilities being too disruptive is utter crap, since the world-first people set the trends that other people follow, which means no one even thinks about trying something else because ‘the standard is set’.
