At the end of the day, balance betwen spec and class was !@#$ty at best in vanilla. Havang the option to chage spec will wrath style or even with more restriction like once a day and you must be in a capital city will realy help balancing. Because at the time if you where a healer you where screwed for doing something else than doengeon and that was no fun. You want to be a pally ret, ok youre cool im pvp and ok for farming in the world but you wont be invite in raid etc. Gold is so important and lvl so long you cant lvl alt just like that to fill those role.
Honestly dual spec is probly the best thing if you dont want 90% of people only playing mage, warrior and rogue.
Honestly dual spec is probly the worst thing for pvp servers. Spec vs Gear was a decent balance point in wpvp.
Why...is everyone offering "solutions" to the re-spec "problem". You will commit to your choices and you will like it, OR you won't care because you and/or your friends will be rolling in gold. End of story.
If you feel otherwise, then retail is that way ==>, and if Blizzard feels otherwise then we are betrayed.

True believer?
Reality is it's going to be better because it can be.

Hey you! Not meaning to throw off this recently necro'd thread but was asking if you gonna twink again come classic? In the one thread where you mentioned your workaround for WLK exp BGs.
Some classes have it much worse when it comes to respeccing. I don't want to see dual spec but lowering the cost of respecs is the only change I wouldn't mind seeing. Spending 150g a week just to respec is an extreme time sink even for Vanilla standards.
How about we don’t change it?

Pwnbot How about we don’t change it?
but but what about the poor people on live who have to change classic into live?

They're sol and Blizz recpatures some of the vast number of players who quit because the game was tailored for the new school. Or Blizz can cater and turn the project into a money sink...
Im fine with or without dual spec. Hunters have some pretty solid, flexible builds that can perform in dungeons, raids or pvp environments.
But a contrarian point is that no dual spec also increases the friction of putting a group together and significantly raises the opportunity costs of those decisions.
I suspect there is a balance somewhere.
But for launch, #nochanges. Just get the game done and shipped.
I dont think it would cause any major impact tbh, everyone will be rolling around in minmaxed specs.
1) Nice necro
2) Dual spec has no place in Vanilla, and reduced respec cap isn't by any means needed
Dual spec....gold cost adjusting .....
No.
Sounds like you nerds just want BFA with a lvl 60 cap.
I'm just guessing most of you didn't raid seriously in classic. We begged for something like dual spec for so long for a reason. I doubt they'll add it but if they do then good! Y'all need to seriously chill. No one liked paying a ton of gold just to switch specs for a raise on top of the massive repair costs you had to constantly farm for. (On top of never actually wearing tier 3 because it cost too much to repair.)

Only try-hards who thought they needed the uber spec for their current activity did any sort of crying. And a fair few of them were perfectly okay with how the system worked. You can build a spec that suits all of your activities or you can min/max everything and "waste" a lot of time farming the cash to pay. Your choice, choices in vanilla had consequences...
lets see I have know 2 people one on tbc who had leveled a second priest to gain access to fear ward and to have both a shadow and holy spec.
second was in wrath, some guy did the same with his paladin but on horde, 2 blef paladins so he could have both a ret and holy spec without having to reroll his talents

Kendamd Why is everyone bringing this up? Is it going to be a thing?
unsure? anyway I hate how specs work now on the main game, you don't have one, basically just press a button on what role you want to be and that's what your character is
