They didn’t do it in TBC, in spite of wanting to, because they couldn’t balance it. They needed the class refresh of the next expansion.

Let me ask you this, is the lack of dual spec stopping you from playing the game, or is the not wanting to spend 50g per respec what is stopping you?
Because you can already have all the benefits of dual spec. Heck one hour of farming can easily yield 200g, but then let’s assume your bad at making gold, so we will cut that to 100g, a 50% efficiency loss because of being bad. That’s still 2 respecs with 1 hour of play that is focused on gold making. But then, your playing the game, to play the game and for some reason playing the game is now bad in your mind…
Gold doesn’t have an up to 2 hour duration. Your lack of wanting to play your character isn’t tied to a limited timer on a power boost, it’s you not wanting to play. And that’s fine, that just eats this isn’t the game for you. If you don’t enjoy playing the game to play the game then tbc classic is not a game you should play.
You have to play the game to get gold for respecs. You have to play the game to get gear. You have to play the game to get rep to get access to places that give better gear. You have to play the game to attune to every aspect of tbc pve outside of normal dungeons.
Heroics? Attune with rep farm for key
Raids? Attune with doing quests that include heroics
Professions? Hope for a low drop chance pattern from a boss or mob to get all the patters or rnj alchemy discoveries.
Pvp? Play the game to get honor gear to make arena gear easier to get and don’t forget to go do heroics or raids to get your BiS rare gems, trinkets, exc. Oh and did I mention those are locked behind attunement that require you to PLAY tha game?
50g in tbc is nothing for respecing.
Gold is 3-5 times easier to get in tbc depending on the class and the price of changing specs didn’t go up.
You want to tank a heroic but don’t want to pay the respec cost? Tell the group you will tank if they each pitch in for your rewpec costs. 20g from each player and then the gold you will make from the dungeon will cover that 100g because 80g from players and 20g from the heroic is easily doable by all parties. Heck I get almost 20g just doing the cooking and fishing dailies and those take just a few minutes if you have everything prepared (having the needed meats ready, high fishing skill with lure)
You not wanting to PLAY the game isn’t the games fault, go play fortnight or something if you want that instant gratification.

The Developers are from retail, they don’t give a crap what would make this game more enjoyable. They can’t even make a decent game on their own, and have to rely on their predecessors work to actually make a profit. I have 0 faith in them to actually care about this game.
