What’s changed?

Because its the 2nd remake of a 20 year old game… (actually 4th if you played SoM and SoD)… im not going to do my usual 2 accounts with a farming mage, and all the professions and etc etc burning 200 days played like its covid again.

Im leveling a priest and calling it a day. CBA to farm thousands of gold just to pvp

It is a massive gameplay feature period. If you even try to describe dual spec as a feature it takes a lot to describe.

That right there proves it’s not a minimal deviation.

An example of a minimal deviation might be “we lowered the gold cost of an item by 50 silver”

︎ Some classes have hybrid pve/pvp specs that are good for doing dungeons and good enough for world pvp. Nobody will play those anymore
︎ Heal specs are less likely to group with others if they can just swap specs whenever, for free. I can solo a lot of stuff on a paladin, if I can get into the proper build and gear. Why do I need your help?
︎ It makes the game even more min-maxified, because people are going to be expected to be in the perfect spec for the given content at all times
︎ It removes what is one of the few substantial gold sinks/ inflation reducers that remains after people have bought all their skills, professions, mount, etc.

When can you swap your talents? Is there a cooldown?

What level can you acquire it at?

Can it be used in raids?

What is the cost for dual spec?

Is there an additional cost each time you use it?

How does that compare to the original respec cost?

What is the cast time?

Can it be done in combat?

What is the UI for this feature?

Do we have to update the npc dialogue options?

Does it swap your bars and abilities?

Etc.

That’s so much more than “the only change is the item costs 50 silver less”

you’re right that there is zero chance they are implementing dual spec. anyone with a cursory understanding of programming knows it’s too much work for blizzard to bother with.

they could very easily make respec fees cheap though, which i am firmly against as well. 50g cap is fine

Just an insane assumption with zero facts to back it up. PvP servers suck because you are simply trying to quest and do w.e and getting ganked. PvP specs dont fix how awful that is.

Priest probably. Warriors require way too much gold and i simply cba on the 5th relaunch of classic to put any more time into LHH or farming dumb pieces of warriors.

Priest is nice. Log in, get infinite invites, press 2 buttons, no consumes, call it a day.
