Brood is not tauntable. I kept aggro enough to take 3 MS from brood. I figured out that if you pop a FR pot on the second to last dragon trash and sit back and have your welp tank pick up the rest of the dragon trash. all your brood tanks can have FR pot up and be able to pop a stoneshield at pull. even with using a pummer i dont take near 6k ms.My average ms taken was 5.1k and 3k blast wave.
I just want to revisit this silliness as well:
Broodlordās special attacks (Knockback, Blast Wave, Mortal Strike) canāt happen simultaneously, as Iāve never seen a shorter window than 1.4 sec between them on any logs. What does happen simultaneously is MS+Auto, and for a Bear the danger is an MS+Critical Auto, which is more severe than a follow-up Blast Wave.
Healers can literally make a ātarget-of-targetā macro and spam their favorite spell on this fight and so long as the ranged donāt get Suppressed, healing will come in that 1.4 sec window between MS and Blast Wave⦠if the Blast Wave even comes right after.
Also to reiterate⦠Broodlord isnāt tauntable, which is why it is a race, and also why I tend to hold him from start til around 15% or so before too many Knockbacks chunk down my threat.
Unless you were super tryhard and got to R13 GM gear, then yes itās still needed to Armor cap. Iād say yes. Its super easy to get the pattern drop, and doesnāt take max chanting to make.
Also, if you donāt have a cancelform/ use item/ cast form macro I suggest you get one.
How do you deal with the lack of hit though? If you look at the BIS list, there is not much in the way of hit aside from DFT and Boots of the Shadow Flame. OR, is hit not as important on the druid?
If you get R13 gear, what do you use then or what is the armor cap?
Most of the generic BiS lists are an amalgam of stat efficiency, so they end up having a lot of all the stats a Druid can use without actually being optimized towards any particular goal or any particular boss.
A Druid can and should go for Hit cap and yes that means not having maximum EH, but thatās perfectly fine given our EH is far in excess of any boss we need to step up to. My guild has two perfectly geared Warriors so I doubt Iāll even be needed for AQ40 on the Twin Emperors, but even Vekānilashās Unbalancing Strike isnāt all that difficult to gear up for. Likewise when I get to Patchwerk as a Hateful Strike tank, you only need enough to consistently survive a full hit, since surviving two in a row is beyond our ability (I think) and is unnecessary anyway.
Ony neck, DFT, and Shadowflame boots put you at 5%. Devilsaur set is another 2% for a total of 7%, meaning before you even have to start dropping the big ticket armor rings or a second trinket, youāre nearly there. With ZG we have the quest belt and a bunch of 1% options as well.
75% damage reduction against the enemy you face, based on their level. Even if your character sheet shows higher, it canāt go more than 75%. At that point Druids start shifting from heavy Armor focus to Stamina, but that max EH level really isnāt necessary.
Broodlord isnāt Tauntable.
You may want to check your gear if you canāt survive broodlord with 1 item that isnāt a Mitigation piece.
Brood Lord is 100% a DPS race as the tanks will continue to lose more aggro than they can generate if you are trying to slowly beat him down. Generating max threat is required.
Hopefully your warriors are keeping up Demo shout as it is slightly better than Roar. Also make sure you have a lock not putting up curse of recklessness and keeping on Weakness instead for that fight, it helps.
But sure whip out the measuring sticks for all I care. We 1 shot our bosses 95% of the time, and I donāt remember the last time I died to Broodlord. Which for some of you sounds like you might want to take my advice and look at your gear or healers to figure out whats going wrong.
those 2 armor trinkets, mark of tyrany and smoking heart of the mountain actually get replaced by dps oriented trinkets later on, drake fang talisman and maexna trinket.
thats because theres a hard armor cap value percentage of 75% which you will reach come AQ40.
(ive already reached it, im actually over it if i pop a stoneshield potion)
2 armor trinkets are invaluable for surviving in BWL effectively and potentially AQ, but you can manage without them by stam stacking with world buffs and consumables so its not gamebreaking if you dont have them.
for instance the mauradon trinket gives +25str, stam, and agility.
thats 1% crit, 1% dodge, 50ap, 40 armor, and 300hp in bear form from it, super undervalued trinket.
Hereās a suggested stat priority for tanks:
- Player is willing to tank
- Player has some practice tanking
- Character has appropriate gear for the content (not necessarily āBiSā)
- Have fun while clearing content
If someone wants to grab the āBiSā stuff because it gives them something to do, great. Is it necessary? No.
