The guides which suggest going balance from 10-20+ then respeccing are based on bear not being fantastic and very slow at low levels. However, I want faster cat speed by level 21 - which means 12 points in feral. If you manage to pull extra mobs the faster cat speed helps getting away (and is useful until you get sprint). That means respeccing at level 20 if you do choose balance talents from 10-19. To respec the first time costs 1g.

I’m doing a dps druid only challenge( I will off heal to save people if need be or dispel but thats it.) u guys think feral or balance is better for a full dps druid build for leveling in hc? 
I’m doing the caster form only challenge. Not training any forms or feral talents until 60.

Personally, I think you’d be better off playing a DPS only class if you want to only DPS. Of course you’re entitled to have fun the way you want to have fun, even if that means playing a hybrid and not taking advantage of being a hybrid.
Does this challenge mean not casting heals and not using bearform? You mentioned that you’d heal others or decurse if needed (mages can also decurse, so not sure why this should be affected), so what exactly does this challenge mean for your gameplay?

I may just skip the bear form quest on my nelf and just swim to Westfall.
Have fun leveling balance! It’s a bigger challenge, for sure.

I talent into the feral tree right away. Getting those 2 points into faster cat form ASAP helps a lot… especially since travel form doesn’t show up until 30.
