You know it always struck me as odd that Driders were considered punishment given that Lolth (however you spell it I’ve seen like four variations) was portrayed as a Drider herself most of the time. IIRC Eberron’s drow inverted that with the Scorrow (Drider but scorpion instead of spider) being a gift.
