Drop in players due to DF?

they nuked the amount of layers, thats why

i actually got in a group on my mage on Maladarth last night. I saw 12 people in the same zone as me! its double the population from the night before. I guess its true some people are leaving DF already

it only seems populated as they are decreasing layers to make it seem more populated.

If you don’t play retail how could you possibly know that??

You clearly haven’t played in at least 4+ content patches.

I was the same way before I discovered boosting is a thing again. Sweet sweet dungeon boosting.

i personally have not noticed any significant change on Grobbulus. Seemed just as easy as ever to get groups.

Wait, is it back for real? Naaah. No way.
I’d gladly blow 5k gold to get boosted until TBC content.

Yea, DTK/HOS and HOL boosts will get you from 69-80 and are running constantly on Bene anyway. Its about 100-120k exp/~12 minute run and usually around 400/5 runs here (DTK may be cheaper.) Maybe not the most efficient way but I’ll gladly pay to to level an alt while I watch TV or do some work on the other screen.

oh right right. That makes sense.
Back in Week 1 of Wrath, my guildie (prot pala) and I (resto) developed an Old Kingdom route. Was exactly 13 minutes in and out and our XP/Hour was 650-700k.

It was brutal. Tough. But we managed to pull it off for like 3 days straight.

eit: found some screenshots on reddit. https://imgur.com/a/OSofcZl

It dropped less than a week ago.

People as a whole generally flock to the newest thing. If you had an expectation for there not to be a sudden decrease … well … naivety is a thing which may be playing a strong factor in your understanding of human nature.

On Tuesday, Dalaran was so packed it was lagging like crazy. That was on Sulfruas. If anything, it seems like the population is higher now that dragonflight is out.

both games can easily coexist. The size of some servers on classic have more players then original servers as they are using new technology with servers. They even talked about this when original Classic launched. Where medium servers where the size of full servers back in Vanilla/Wrath.

Sorry to burst your bubble but anyone performing and parsing on classic is also doing it on retail or recently came from retail.

will try this again. it SEEMS more populated because they have REDUCED the number of layers on the servers due to players shifting from classic to DF.

why does 90% of the wotlk community raid log and buy gold from 3rd party sites?

totally noticable. im on a megaserver, and normal dungeons are completely dead now. Cant find a party for anything. Im rotating through multiple alts of all dif levels and theres literally nothing. Everyone got sick of the slow leveling process and went to DF imo

yeah real mmo players? 90% of this community cries about leveling, and buys gold at max lvl to buy gear in GDKP, lol I wish wow had a real mmo community, but it’s 90% cry babies due to Blizzard not punishing the RMTers more harshly, turned into a culture of paying to skip 90% of the game.

That’s not a mmo community.

This is how I was all through TBC. Never even purchased Shadowlands. But now, I leveled to 80 in wotlk and just can not get interested in it at all. Having a good time in DF, though.

I played at the start of SL. I don’t know about DF, but I know SL (and every preceding expansion), and everything I said applies to it. The grind in SL was terrible, plus you were forced into picking a faction (can’t remember the precise name for it) that might be significantly better for PvE or PvP OR incredibly good for one spec and terrible for another.

Plus, they had some specs that were essentially unplayable in the game. All of their decisions increased the grind and narrowed the game. And then they screwed up PvP gearing like the true geniuses they were. Finally, ever since Legion, there has always been an un-ending grind for some resource. If you miss a week, you’re suddenly parsing lower that everybody else.

It’s true, I haven’t played DF since Alpha (when I logged in for 30 minutes), so maybe it’s different. If they have a never-ending resource grind, or any of the mechanics I mentioned above, I don’t want to play it. I’m perfectly happy in classic.

Tell me, what part has changed?

What grind was there in SL, lol?
And they changed covenants so you could swap without penalty in like the second patch…

Rofl… like which?

How? The consensus throughout all of SL was that PVP gearing was in a better place than it had been for several expansions.

Literally not true. You clearly never played lol. What resource did you have to grind for every week or “be forever behind.” If you dont wanna play retail that’s your prerogative. But its silly if you havent played recently enough to know what you’re talking about
