Wait until you find out that Blizzard’s first game was Rock n’ Roll Racing! A vehicle combat game with a heavy metal/rock soundtrack. Pretty edgy for the time.
GTA did not come along until 1997, three years after Blizzard released their car racing game.
That they have had steampunk, cars, tanks, flying machines, etc since the Warcraft RTS games. That we have been driving and flying motorized vehicles in WoW since the start (at least riding on them anyway).
At least most folks understood this thread for what it is, a misguided assumption at best.
The racing game can be played still as part of Blizzard’s Arcade Collection along with Lost Vikings, and several other games.

It isn’t weird for wow.
We have motor bikes and motor trikes, and a chauffeured motorcycle with a sidecar. We have helicopters, planes, and flying broomsticks, my guy. We’ve had literal spaceships in the game since the very first expansion. We have trains. We have cities that can teleport.
The car thing might not be your cuppa, but it’s not even remotely a stretch.

You do realise that playable goblins have had cars since they were first created back in Catalcysm? As a race they have been around in some form since ancient times. Kezan has been around for 10,000 years and Goblins interest in mechanisms are part of their culture.
And if you want to talk about vehicles, the Draenei have spaceships.
A fantasy world can also be steampunk; there are many alternate fantasy novels out there featuring it. You need to broaden your view imo.
