As the title says. I know it’s not client based as retail, etc is fine.

Retail and TBC use different clients, so the fact that retail is fine doesn’t rule out the client.
It does probably rule out hardware or personal connection issues, but it might be a corrupt client or something still.
Unless they changed it…not true. Classic is pushed through the retail client; they did a big panel on this one year talking about how they even got classic to work after they “discovered” an old version of it and what it took to make it work.
They use the same kind of client, but it’s a different instance, installed in a different place on your hard drive and patched/updated differently. They do share elements, but they’re not identical.
It’s very possible for classic to end up with a bug that retail doesn’t have, for example.
Unless you’re talking about a more recent panel and client, that would be the Legion client that they got Classic to run in. Or maybe BFA since Legion was ending and BFA was about to start (my memory is hazy on the exact details).
