Dragonriding

Can be acquired for free as a bonus for subscribing for 6/12 months. I’ve already gone over this with you.

That’s not a dragonriding mount.

Cost zero extra dollars

Just one bonus with a special edition of the expansion

Not dragonriding

I mean, when 11.0 launches most mounts will be able to dragonride.

Doesn’t make your theory less idiotic.

edit: oh right and none of those are “customizations”. The two that are actually dragonriding are fully separate mounts.

i hope i have enough time to do my experiment

What experiment is this?

you will see

its mostly to experience it myself and satisfy my curiosity and this gave me an excuse lol

How does DR possibly feel like old flying, when you can measure the vast time-difference between two waypoints in TomTom. I think your “feel” is pretty off from reality if they feel the same to you.

It’s the best thing to come out of this expansion. By far. And you want it removed?

I am extremely skeptical of the 830. I look at my icon on the map as I’m spamming my surges and my icon doesn’t really go any faster.

That said I have clocked myself on Pandaria battle pet trainer runs. It used to take 35 minutes. With dragonriding I can sometimes go below 30. So if we go by that, it might be about 15% faster.

They’ve been doing this for literal years now. Nothing has changed with dragonriding.

I mean you can literally measure your speed. There’s mods that will display it for you.

If you’re only going 15% faster, that’s a skill issue.

Yeah, there’s no way that they are only going 325% if they are using Dragonriding properly.

You’re absolutely correct. I feel most people just fly around Valdrakken and never really test things out, relying on addons 24/7.

I was able to get gold on every dragon race I did. If the elite 1% of dragonriders get a 830% flying mount while everyone else is stuck around 3-400, that’s really really bad design because everyone else is just incentivised not to do it.

Well, you’d have to measure specifically flight time. The fastest Dragonriding method isn’t to actually spam the key as soon as it is available, you’d have to wait just a moment for your speed to dip to a certain point before hitting it again because it only offers so much acceleration that if you hit it immediately some of that speed will be lost to the speed cap.

They are also slower outside of the Dragon Isles, though AFK flying by either method, the dragonriding method will get there sooner.

Nope.

Terrible take.

I love dragonriding and I’m glad they added it.

Everyone’s dragonriding speed is the same. If you are somehow stuck at half the intended speed, that’s either a bug or as Briselody said, a skill issue.

I crossed Eastern Kingdoms from South-North with both dragonriding and regular flying, minus quel’thalas because you cant fly there anyway
It took me 6 minutes to cross with (suboptimal) dragonriding. I alt tabbed quite a bit, so it wasnt super involved, mainly just tabbing in occasionally to regain height

It took 10-11 minutes with regular flying.

the Azure Span is at about 2-2.5x the scale of Eastern Plaguelands, one of the larger Eastern Kingdom zones. It’s why dragonriding feels insignificant in DF zones and why they slowed down dragonriding in old zones. My math isnt perfect because I based it off the map, and the only common feature that didnt seem uniform in size was the width of roads. But devs confirmed DF zones are larger.

I’m well aware of that. But if I am spamming surge and don’t see my icon going faster, that might indicate that the 830 is just a lie.

This is hilariously misleading. Dragonriding mounts represent an entirely different type of collecting gameplay. Players will collect customizations piecemeal, meaning lots of extra hours and content played, in addition to all the regular mounts. Do you even play the game?

Explain precisely how what I said is misleading.
