Dragonriding should not have been enabled from day 1

Sorry, but it always came in the .2 patch, so not the first patch, second patch of 3 so 2/3rds of the expansion. Also, both can and should coexist without problem, people like you and this current Dev team for some reason believe taking options away from players is a good thing though.

Insulting the general populace because they like something you donā€™t?

You must be popular in social circles.

I feel like you can play however you want to. I donā€™t understand why you want the devs to control how we play.

Dragon riding is the best thing that happened to WoW since static flying back in the day. if you donā€™t want that for you, donā€™t have that for you.

Iā€™m good.

The problem is the Dev team is controlling how players are playing by only allowing dynamic flying from day one and restricting static flying behind, albeit reasonable requirements, are still restricting it, and controlling how people play. Honestly Iā€™m of the opinion, both can and should coexist day one.

It just feels like yet more passive aggressiveness towards people that prefer static flying over dynamic flying.

I donā€™t think itā€™s passive aggressiveness. I think itā€™s pretty clear game design. The devs do all kinds of things to funnel us into new content and features. Iā€™m sympathetic to the small number of people who are vocally against dragon riding and would prefer to only use static flying, but my suggestion to them is to grieve the loss, because that train has left the station. Itā€™s a lost cause at this point.

So while you have attempted to preemptively deal with the retort of ā€œuse your ground mount thenā€ , you havenā€™t actually countered it.

Whatā€™s it matter to you if Joe shmoe flies over you to finish a quest before you? YOU get the enjoyment of taking in the splendor of the zone.

Yes, there are vertical elements to traverseā€¦ So mount up for those and then return to ground mount. This isnā€™t a crazy idea. You are deliberately choosing to not do things that would make you happy because what makes you HAPPIER is to get stuff done efficiently and quickly. This is just a question of value: what do you value more? Taking in the zone on your own accord, or getting stuff done?

Blizzard: ā€œYouā€™ll be able to fly once you finish the main quest chains and hit 80ā€
Players: ā€œYouā€™re making me walk the majority of future expansions reeā€

No, Blizzard isnā€™t making you do anything. :dracthyr_shrug:
