I believe there’s a a Dream Warden(?) toy that spawns the rings like the races too
Thats cap. You buggin
I’m not sure about that. In the past, flight has been hacked to the point where bots were occasionally seen flying in zones that did not even allow flight at all… so I am not sure what putting in a quest requirement achieves. A lot of gatherer hackers were actually farming from underneath the terrain too.
In my WoW gaming experience, the one thing that will discourage me from exploring and make me just go from point A to point B to point C in order to rush through a questline, it’s the inability to fly when a new expansion drops. Having to go around an entire zone to get to the area that’s literally right next to you because someone put a massive mountain in the way (I’m looking at you, Zandalar) is the fastest way to get me not interested in exploring.
Giving me the ability to fly as soon as the expansion drops, and in a way that’s engaging and not just clicking on autopilot and looking away actually made me explore more. In fact I spent so much time discovering new places because I was in the air and high enough to see them, and therefore curious enough to investigate, that it took me months just to complete the main campaign questlines.
Everyone has a different playstyle. Everyone enjoys things in a different way. Removing accessibility just because you don’t need or want it isn’t a step forward. It’s a step backward. It’s a bit like wheelchair ramps. If you’re not in a wheelchair, you don’t have to use them just because they exist.
Worked with me…I’m out of here after 19 years. If the dev’s want fortnighters, they are welcome to them.
Not that they would come to this game.
Then I will not be buying any further expansions. I will not walk through all future content while you lot fly.
Besides why destroy my game experience to inconvenience bots? The regional materials auctionhouse has destroyed the value of gathered materials pretty much forever. Bots are such a 20th century issue.
Then you shouldn’t mind it at all if I make my slow way through the world from day 1 either right?
Me flying slow doesn’t slow you down and even gets you an minor advantage (speed vers control) . So why should I have to wait until some point in the game (max level, complete story compaign, whatever) until I can fly slow rather than walk?
Hmmmm I have never had any problem being able to explore with dragonflying or being able to fly period. Who says that you have to use dragon rideing to do anything fast in this game. Is their a rule that says you have to gogogo to explore? That is what I have always enjoyed about games like WoW you can play at your own pace. Hell for the last two days I have been in old content just messing around, even though I could have spent the last two days in the new content. So, why are you trying to keep up and put yourself at the standards of everyone else?
yep. they’ll always find a way.
but as usual anti-reg flying ppl say it’s a lie despite video proof
Let people play the way they want. It absolutely should be enabled day one. Stop it
I’ll be perfectly happy with Dragriding day 1 in standard zones as well as patch zones that only allow ground mounts. I think both can coexist and I agree with OP’s take that the Emerald dream should have been a no-fly zone for a while. Why do we need to skip over an entire zone that has less to offer than Korthia?
It doesn’t feel small. These zones are MASSIVE compared to anything else they have ever built. And once you have Dragonriding in old zones, you will see just how much bigger they are.
I will say that the beginning of DF only having Dragonriding was very nice for me as someone with Herb/Mining not getting immediately drowned out by bots.
Dynamic flying is the best implementation Blizzard added to WoW. People quitting over this will not be missed.
I mean, I can barely tolerate normal flying in the old zones at this point now that I know dynamic flying is coming soon.
This exploration is bad even if you can’t fly.
I recommend Fallout 76 if you like raw exploring. Fallout 4 also, maybe even Fallout 3.
Okiedokie.
This current Dev team is such a bunch of hypocritical, condescending a-holes. They were so adamant that flying was bad they did everything in their power to try and kill it. Now they introduce a new form of flying and all of sudden they embrace flying, but only their type of flying, the old flying they didn’t create is still being viewed as bad by them. Get rid of the lot of them and bring in Developers that aren’t so ego driven, and will embrace both forms of flying day 1.
Old flying is bad compared to Dragonriding. Not only from a speed perspective, but the fact that you don’t just press the move forward button on your mouse or keyboard anymore. That being said, you are going to be free to use it.
As for wanting to get rid of it, that was the official policy for 75% of ONE expansion. After that you got it in the first patch in every subsequent expansion.
/shrug
I still explore all the time. I just do it on the back of my dragon.
