Does Dragonflight have some sort of system where you have to level it? What I mean is where you have to spend an ungodly amount of time grinding for a new power of some sort. I don’t know the name people use for it. But, I think it’s something like “borrowed power” systems?
There’s been no sign of borrowed power and doesn’t appear to be one on the horizon. The Rep grind has taken more of a center stage though.
That sounds appealing then. Is the rep system required for combat? What I mean is, normally you can unlock some gear with rep. But, it’s not 100% required. Because, you can just get gear from raiding instead if you wish.
Sort of required for early raid progression - the cloak you get from Wrathion/Sabellion rep was a must in order to be competitive. Shouldn’t be that way for long.
WoW has always done well with horizontal progression, so while there is some gear in the rep stuff, most of it is aethestic/vanity type stuff whereas you’ll get most of your gear from raids, pvp or vault.
oh cool. So, if I ignore the rep grind. I can still do the dungeons/raids? I’m the type who just likes to do 5 mans and sometimes LFR. But, I hate having to do quests.
A cloak (lowest gear budget of any slot) at 398 with no extra ability or property is barely even impactful, right?
At this point, the gear from Rep isn’t great, still good depending on what you do in game. More importantly are the profession recipes.
Oh cool. I don’t do professions.
No borrowed power and that is not coming back.
You hit level cap and start grinding for gear. The way it should have always been.
So, Blizzard is actually listening? Did dad come back with the milk?
You may have to spend money down the line on a few things related to profession-created gear, but it’s honestly not that bad if you’re doing content anyways. You generate enough passive income from weeklies and running content to get the stuff you need for the most part.
I will warn you though, if all you do is raid/m+ thats all there is at end game. For some including me its enough.
I’m not sure how tied to future elements the story will be, but if it is like any other game, you’ll want to do the rep grinds to access future content most likely.
No you don’t have to grind borrowed power… but now you have to grind renown (used to be rep)
Oh, I’m like autistic or something. Where I like to do very specific things in games, and just repeat that over and over. Heck, when people were still leveling in classic wrath, I made a twink character that was exp locked at 22 to run Deadmines over and over.
ull be fine then. Alot of casual world questers are mad about lack of story/WQS. The renown grind is indeed gross. I generally avoid it and just m+ and raid. Also class balance is a dumpster fire but they are doing near weekly tuning passes
ahh. I think they should include the story stuff for people who like lore (I don’t care less about it, personally). What is renown?
New rep grind that replaced power grind and its baaad. Each zone has its own renown its reputation grinding.
