Dragonflight Twitch Drops: Earn The Feldrake Mount Now and Support a Streamer

But you know that Blizzard didn’t set the prices of these items, third parties did. You also know Blizzard has no obligation to eBay or whoever and nor should they.

There is no evidence of this. So far they have been giving away stuff that was removed from the game (like the hats) and TCG items.

Nobody has given a good reason why this mount should stay rare. It’s just “meh exclusives”. I know exactly why gladiator, KSM, AOTC and CM mounts should stay rare. They’re 1.) participation trophies and 2.) test of skill.

The fact that third parties have made this mount cost thousands of dollars is exactly why Blizzard should break that market.

Hold up, this is wrong for two reasons. The first reason is there’s a limited number of fel drake cards isn’t to keep it rare, it’s because TCG was a failed experiment. We have no idea how rare that card would have stayed if TCG was still going on today. And the second one is Blizzard never printed these cards, Upper Deck then Cryptozoic did.

Because it’s pixels I can never own. You keep saying stuff like “pokemon!” and “stamps!” but these are things I can actually own and hold in my hand. The fel drake is lights on my screen that belongs to Blizzard.

Yes. I used to collect Peña Windstone dragons and after I bought them from her they were mine not hers.

p.s. You keep trying to make this Blizzard’s fault and it’s starting to come off as you’re purposely obtuse or you have a really, really bad memory.

The only “blame” you can lay at Blizzard’s feet is abandoning the TCG program and going with Hearthstone instead.

They ALREADY did it. You could get TCG/removed mounts and armor via BMAH. The precedent argument is stupid anyways.

Womp womp dude, the TCG mounts aren’t an exclusive bundle promotion thing like the murloc, and they are not saying you only get the mount via this in the future. They also have a precedent OF keeping most mounts they say are only for something as that.

MC anniversary corehound? Not brought back except via BMAH
Tyrael’s Charger? Still gone
Flying moose mount from WoD raid end/AoTC? still gone
Same as the spell birb
Same as the void drake
Same as the meta achieve Protodrakes, except BMAH again.

And no, the BMAH isn’t a good compromise. It is so outside the realm of affordable most people can’t but dream of having the gold to get it.

Stop trying to dress your dislike of people getting this behind a thinly veiled argument of setting a precedent. That is BS and everyone including yourself knows it. If you don’t like people are getting it, hate it. Just hate it honestly instead of trying to look like you are thinking of the future. We ALL smell that BS.

I beg to differ: bmah is a good (or at least more suitable) place to make TCG stuff more available again. don’t like the fact that rare items are to pricey? just crank up the spawn rate a bit (or a bit more). or just rework the bmah alltogether via unlimitd fixed-price sales. or dediacate a whole new vendor to this. a promotion like this has just too many flaws. people usually don’t hate other people getting stuff. that’s just a small minority.
most people are just disappointed with the fact that the mounts becomes free for all and will loose a lot value and esteem. no matter how aggressive or over-generalizing they phrase their words

while I don’t share the line that all mounts are off limits in this way, it absolutely sets a precedent for tcg items. a very unnecessary one.

there have been plenty of good reason. we can even turn that around: there has been no reason to justify binding this mount to a free-for-all promo like this other than blizzard decided so for whatever reason. want to make tcgs more accessible? make them earnable via ingame means. this thing is just so out of proportion, but most people seem a bit too eager to get a rare and desired (up- and foremost for its rarity) mount so that they don’t separate aspects enough to take a sober look at them

while it is true that blizzard can not be taken by any promise, they inadvertently did set some sort of status quo.
and while it is totally within their rights to change or walk away from that, the dismay is totally understandable. they should have been a bit more sensible with this

So it will stop being sold by a third party for thousands of dollars. Was this a serious statement

this could have equally been accomplished by other means of making the mount available ingame

What difference does it make? Whether it comes from a boss or it comes from a Twitch drop, it’s still $3000 less than what it was when it was from the TCG program.

The mount is going to be offered for 2 days. People complain about not having time to get the Mage Tower appearances and that was available for a year. It’s still going to be rare

well, if this was much of an objectice indeed… mission accomplished for that mount.
in my opinion, it is also a very big problem of continuity. I don’t like fomo and think they should make everything available again via appropriate means. this action though is a very strange situation where they crank availabilty up to a hundred, only to have it go back effectively zero. so… everyone can get it without efforts… and then its fomo again for who knows how long, leaving every new player after this behind.
they’re using this as a cheap and lazy surrogate of a reward to generate attention for something that has no value for the ingame experience.
if it was a dedicated promo reward (like Ichabod), this wouldn’t be much of a problem (except for the fomo aspect). but, as was said before, those items have an established value, a status quo. it’s within blizzards rights. but also equally disappointing.

it’s four days now, isn’t it? but regardless, I’m curious to see how rare it will stay. (the obsidian worldbreaker is obtained by 30% and had a lot more to it to be earned and that is by no means rare), but this is only half as good as a comparison. but agreed on that it’s of speculative nature

there is just too much bad with this that I can’t stand behind it. at least from a mount hunter perspective. I am still missing the Feldrake as well as other tcg mounts like the Hippogryphs, Ghastly Charger. I want to collect them. But I don’t want to have them shoved up my… like that.

How will i claim my welfare / fomo / zoomer drake mount?

They better, because they just devalued basically every tcg mount under it.

Not everyone was paying 3k irl money for this mount tho, i dont think alot of people understand many people i know put months of gametime, years farming gold to afford mounts like these. These sold for like 60-70 million gold. These were like final goals for people to get, and spectral tigers? basically no more even exist or ever are up for sale. So this just not gatekeeps spectral tiger even further, and watch theyll be releasing every tcg mount under spectral tiger. They should atleast do what china did and give us spectral tiger if there going to go down this route. Hopefully the backlash alone this got will make them not do these anymore or atleast reward tcg mounts anymore. I just think those should be kept as relics for mount collectors and serious players, i dont get why everyone should have it for “free”, i dont understand why everyones down with that. Atleast do something for it.

that’s what people get for being so greedy…and charging irl money

however, i will buy the spectral tiger for 800g if anyone has it :100:

If its anything like tarkov twitch drops muting the stream wont work… but muting the tab itself did

There is no value in a digital asset for a game other than the revenue it generates for the company. Seeing as how Blizz is not selling these out the back door and it’s entirely the third party Blizz shouldn’t even care about what some dummy that dropped $3,000 thinks about them reusing it how they want.

As someone who has a Swift Spectral tiger (I’m an EU player before someone checks the profile and says I don’t). I don’t really have a problem with blizz adding the mounts in this way, I do however thing if they are going to do this… I think anyone who has the gel drake (I don’t)… Should have a remastered version of the mount added to their collections for free. Similar to how they added new versions of the AQ mount but only for people who had the old one.

My point still stands. Blizzard themselves didn’t dictate either the cash market or the gold market. If someone thought the Feldrake was worth months of farming gold (or $3000 in real life) so be it, that was their choice. But that wasn’t on Blizzard and again they have no obligation to consider it now.

Don’t get me wrong, if Blizzard had sold this on their shop for real money and were now giving it away to the masses I would agree they owe something to those who’d purchased it. But that’s not the case here. Blizzard didn’t control the third party market (either gold or cash) for these things, and third party sellers (or buyers) don’t actually own it.

Fine with me. The TCG is dead. Might as well recycle the WoW assets related to it.

Also fine with me.

I don’t think the “backlash” is as widespread as you believe. I’d lay money that this is more popular than it is unpopular.

“Serious players.” Watch out, your elitism is showing.

Four hours of watching streams is something. Sorry it’s not enough for you.

Good thing I work from home and can fire up Twitch on another computer…since Blizzard thought it was perfectly okay to have drop windows over weekdays only. Yes, I know many people have days off other than Sat-Sun, but that’s why each drop window should have been 7 days, not 4 days, to accommodate everyone’s potential days off.

Never before cared about supporting “content creators,” won’t do so now simply to get “unique rewards.” But, thanx for the update anyway.
