Man, these trees have me real worried, especially holy. What a mess. Taking away the mastery from rule of law??
I’m beginning to think that the blandness of Dragonflight Paladins, is the result of Paladin designers who are entirely too focused on M+ and competitive play (for other classes), and nowhere near concerned with Paladin RPG flair and class fantasy.
We’re leaving a death expansion, going directly into an expansion with Dragons and stone dudes, and my main feels straight up beige.
i’m not personally one for the rpg/class fantasy tbh. I’m more concerned for our viability in competitive content. The issue as I see it. Is we don’t bring unique utility now so there is no reason to bring us. M+ without holy power generation on AS feels terrible. Slowing down our spender generator cycle makes the class slower and less fun to play.
We asked to buff long arm They removed it.
We asked for less degenerative gameplay (aka Vengence shield used to do dmg) They gave us “Recompense”
We said Loudly : " We hate consecration" They gave us 8 points for consecration
We asked to remove the skill-bait Justicar’s vengence It’s still there.
We asked for raid/buff party Still no blessing in sight.
We asked to get usefull aura Turned our BFA-passive to be an “aura”
I have no words.
No offense meant, but if you don’t care about RPG / class fantasy, why bother with Paladins in the first place? Some odd competitive niche?
I think you just figured it out. We are not Paladins anymore. I am not sure what we are but we are most definitely not WoW Paladins. Without our support role, we are not WoW Paladins.
Revamped Hpal talent tree clarifying the two approaches (caster/crusader strike) with far more flexible pathing.
We are Warrior-Rogues. Combo point play in plate with judgement acting like a mini colossal smash, with the added bonus of being worse than both due to having less utility and damage than either.
Also add with zero class identity anymore with the class over the years being pruned of any sort of fantasy they established in the lore.
Unless there is a new, better mastery!
We seem to be moving in the right direction. Not as much as I would like but the right direction.
We do have vanquisher hammer now, its one of our capstones but it is such a horrible talent that I dont know if anyone would ever consider taking it.
its activated by TV, then goes on a 30 second CD
this really is much better than the current, please that some dev see this
Yes that is what I am refering to in that comment. It is a passive I assume up from the moment you start an arena match. You wnt use judgement because you know it will activate your next tv to prpc ds. It is counter intuitive gameplay. They should just give js real vanq hammer or replace HoW with Vanq hammer if they feel we are bloated with keybinds.
Welcome to Ret, we’re worried to see you join us!
What is the logic behind Divine Toll & Divine Resonance being in each spec tree? Why not put these in the class tree?
Been asking the same thing myself, along with consecrated ground that exists in both ret and prot trees
If they put Divine Toll and Divine Resonance in the spec tree, someone will have to put creative stuff in each class tree as a replacement.
I said it in another thread and I’ll say it here. All I want is a new holy paladin mastery. This will make me play the class again.
It might not be a huge demand, but I miss Sacred Shield and Eternal Flame from MoP the most. And I agree, better integration of auras would be excellent.
Paladins are getting the bare minimum done to the class because either its going to get a complete revamp in the next few Alpha builds or it will be completely redone in 10.1 like Shadowpriests were in Shadowlands.
They aren’t going to get it right the first time through, but the Paladin trees are pretty bad.
DKs were here: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/en/wow/t/feedback-death-knights/1279518/3 29 days ago.
That’s basically where Paladins sit right now.
Also this. We have Dusk Till Dawn, Blessing of Seasons in the Holy Tree, a nerf Vanquisher’s Hammer tied to Judgement because, why not lets put everything on Judgement!, in the Ret Tree and Divine Toll copy pasted 3 times.
The Paladin Devs have been lacking creativity for quite some time now.
