Bring back blessings!! Don’t druids get mark of the wild back?
All I have asked for is one aura and one blessing per Paladin spec.
They better bring HP back to judgement in spect tree. Holy want its HP generetor too
To be honest I feel like they need more. The equivalent of Pally used to be Shaman in term of support and such. And if you look at the Shaman totem they can bring compared to what Paladin support can bring. They bring really nothing now.
I mean shammy have a totem for litteraly anything now. Every 30sec you can reduce 10% physical dmg on tank then switch to Earthen wall to reduce direct dmg taken.
While pally lost all their blessing and support abilities
Wondering if the holy power generation nerf for Prot is actually aimed at the off-healing capabilities it has. It’s a tough problem to solve: the off healing a prot pal is unparalleled among non-healer specs for both PvE and PvP but at the same time, Prot Pal with low SotR uptime and with fewer WoGs is going to feel bad compared to how the spec plays now.
The extra cooldowns, block chance, and group healing with new talents are nice but it doesn’t quite capture the exhilarating feel of saving an ally from death in M+ with a well-timed WoG like a dad watching his toddler and trying to keep them alive.
It’s be okay to slap a big PvP healing reduction for Prot Pal WoGs but keep the HP generation and healing as it is in PvE.
And I’m still salty about that because Kings and MotW were the same buff, and we got shafted!
Quite sure they still can with the good talent. With that Hand of Protector and Light of the titan added to it. And if it does both on the WoG Afterimage its gonna be quite strong
My take on the recently-released Holy talents:
A lot of the things I’d put in my own ideal tree for Holy are there in Blizzard’s first draft, but one of the things that’s most conspicuous by its absence is Denounce. They really, really need to bring that back—whether in the class talents, the Holy talents, or as a baseline ability.
Bringing a WoD-style Holy Radiance back is also a really good idea, but if I had to pick just one, I’d pick Denounce.
Apart from that, I feel like what the Holy tree needs most is a reshuffling of the talents with the following mantra as the golden rule: “It’s not fun to put something a player wants behind something they don’t want.”
Take Crusader’s Might for one example: it’s a staple of melee playstyles. But one of its prerequisites is the Holy Light spell that melee playstyles rarely, if ever, use. It’d be wiser if Crusader’s Might had Light of Dawn as its prerequisite, instead of Holy Light, since LoD is another staple of the melee playstyle.
Ideally, Blizzard should do what I did with my ideal talents: put talents used by melee playstyles on one side, talents used by casting playstyles on the other side, and talents useful to both in the middle. Moving Crusader’s Might to the right-hand side of the talent tree would go a long ways to helping with this.
I’d also move Tyr’s Deliverance to the left-hand side; it’s a great capstone talent for casting playstyles, but a terrible one for melee playstyles. Divine Toll might be a better capstone talent for melee playstyles, considering it’s instant and provides 5 holy power.
Most, but not all, of the building blocks of a good Holy tree are there; it’s just a matter of moving them to where they need to be.
Though they really should put Denounce into the trees somewhere.
How do PALADINS have no group utility? What is even going on?
New talent for the Ret Tree
Empyrean Endowment

Requires Paladin (Retribution)
Judgment empowers your next Templar’s Verdict to automatically trigger Divine Storm with 25% increased effectiveness.
This effect can only occur every 30 sec.
Basically Vanquisher’s Hammer, but without the extra ranged damage button. Don’t know about it being activated by Judgement, because this makes it hard to setup. It is easier to use though, and doesn’t add an additional button so there’s that.
I need to go over Holy a bit more, I do like a few entries, but I haven’t done a deep dive yet. Saving that for tomorrow.
Protection is so boring it hurts my heart. Like, I want to be more than Avenging Shield, and I’d like to have more than three attacks and Consecration.
The issue I see with it is that it’s a bonus damage TV/DS once every 30s, and that doesn’t seem very special to me. That it’s a bonus to both ST and AoE damage is nice, and that it’s passive so it’s a sort of cleave is also nice. But twice a minute? That’s just not exciting.
Prot required removed from Sanctified Wrath. Will Sanctified Wrath + Crusade make a 30 second Avenging Wrath baby?? Would The Mad Paragon make it a 35+sec AW?
It’s never been Prot required; that’s basically just fluff descriptors being removed, because it’s clear they intended Retribution to have it. It’s more like at least a 40 second Crusade, with Divine Resonance anyway. If you get lucky enough with Seal of Wrath, it could last to ~43-44 seconds.
Yeah but Holy doesnt have that and I wish it would.
The should make that into the “Jugement” node in spec tree instead. Cause Holy doesnt have HP dmg ability but Divine is locked behind it
Well could also be good for Melee Holy sinse jugement doesnt give us Hp during Awakening it would
It basically tells us that we just wont use judgement ever in pvp because we will have to save it for burst windows. What if they either
Just gave us vanquisher hammer?
Just had an upgrade to hammer of wrath that turned it into a vanquisher hammer. It would help us in execute phases greatly. Maybe make it work on all hp% idk. But the current … as always … is a WORSE version of what we have right now.
I can’t comment in the Alpha discussion for Paladins, so I thought that I’d throw another petition here:
I think Blizzard should create a multi-school for use by Paladins (and maybe Priests) called Holystrike, which would naturally be multi-spell combination of Holy and Physical, similar to Flamestrike or Shadowstrike attacks.
Applying Holystrike to our resource builders (Crusader Strike, Blade of Justice, and Avenger’s Shield) would be highly beneficial, as they’d be less vulnerable to being completely Holy Locked.
Also, Holystrike as multi-school would help all Paladins gain more overall damage, as:
- multi-school abilities benefit from bonuses that affect any of their schools (super beneficial for Ret., considering their Mastery).
- multi-school abilities use the lowest resistance value among their schools (helpful to us all).
- multi-school abilities ignore absorption and immunity effects that apply to only some of their schools (again, highly beneficial for us all).
I believe that Holystrike would also make later Talents way more attractive, like Justicar’s Vengeance and Execution Sentence. Finally, it may also give Blizzard a kick in the creative juices for actual new Talents and abilities.
Beyond that, could an Alpha player PLEASE petition for Exorcism to go back to ALL Paladin specs? It’s not cool that only Ret is getting it back.
I’m starting to get really worried for prot. They have given away our unique tools to other specs/classes while nerfing our holy power generation/ability to off heal. Prot right now does not do anything unique, while feeling worse to play then it did in shadowlands.
The Blade of Justice changes headed in the right direction. They still aren’t powerful enough. It needs a buff to Expurgation. Like double the ticks, or, increase damage.
I would prefer a set of +20 required point talents dedicated to Blade of Justice. Wouild love to make a crit happy Pally
