I appreciate you writing out a response, especially one that is defending LGBT characters. However, I do not agree with any of the rant that was generated by the AI bot, it’s serving to show that some of these troll posts are capable of AI bot generation and exhausting player bases.

Blizzard forum ToS does not allow us to call out specific users, nor would I want to take a blind guess and witch hunt possibly innocent people. My point is that:
- Blizzard needs to step up and take responsibility for clear botting that’s happening in the forums.
- We need to be more patient and use more critical thinking skills before reacting to posts, because they may not be what or from who they appear to be.

There’s tons of trolling and always has been. As for forum bots? You kind of have to prove that.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Normally I don’t read the “OMG I’m quitting WOW” posts but for some reason I clicked on this one and read to the end. Excellent use of AI to illustrate a point… that people really don’t have a CLUE how easily manipulated they are and how infrequently they stop to think before tossing off a withering reply.
Bottom line? “Never trust, always verify”… and never ASSUME the intent of the speaker/writer. Some people are just plain trolls whose only joy in life is getting others riled up and angry. Seriously… don’t feed trolls folks…

It’s well known and been discussed that there is some form of automation going on in the forums. Marisol on the Community Council has verified that. Also, bots on forums have been around since the inception of forums. I don’t have to prove that bots exist in forums, anyone who has used forums know that’s true.
The point isn’t really about bots, it’s more nuanced. I’m not a bot, but here I spent 1 minute generating an 8 paragraph rant by a chat bot. Look at how so many people responded without even reading fully, look at how much confusion this has caused. Now, take some key issues and spam threads like this-- now you have what appears to be a playerbase that is angry about said issues.

You were clearly just ranting on how youre quitting wow. Why would you attention seek from a bunch of players when you could just quit. This is a cry for attention to be noticed and you are not quitting we all know it lol. You could have easily just left all the quitting talk out of it and said i think these are the problems and blizzard should address. Then you would possibly have better responses.
