Dragonflight is Not for Casuals

the problem is you sound like you want it to be ‘over’ when the expansion literally just started. Its going to be a lot to do until it is actually over.
I’ll take too much to do where MOST of it is optional, over not enough to do.
MOST of the stuff youre seeing is entirely optional.
Delete it from your questbook if it is and you dont want to do it.
I do.

A World ‘blue’ quest this reset was a 385 head piece at cobalt assembly.

This is equal to M+7 drops.

I mean anyone complaining about gear drops this xpac makes zero sense

You are asking for a lot.
You want fast progression… And loads of content… Perhaps you should play a single player game between your boredom?

Because that’s a tall order that is unrealistic

Maybe you have been playing more than me and thus unlocked something I don’t have but I’ve done the Blue Cobalt Assembly every week and haven’t gotten anywhere near a 385 head piece. I’m still rocking a 305 piece from leveling. I just double checked and I got rep and a chest from my Assembly WQ just today.

Its a world quest (weekly or 3 day daily or whatever)

You just need to be 70 afaik.

Or maybe its because im 385?

I dont know man, i just play the game, not design it

As a solo open world casual player, I think DF is actually for casuals more so than SL or even BFA with professions allowing us to make close to high level gear and world quests when they give gear it scales up to replace what once was old gear.

My main just today after a world quest went from 358 to 360 after getting a pants upgrade there is still a lot to do even when you are done with every world quest and whatnot.

Every player defines casual differently so as a casual DF is so far going in the right direction.

Pretty much total nonsense. You can do weekly for gear, rare spawns for gear, dungeon grind for gear, renown for gear, and professions for gear. You can also did pvp and the elemental events.

Gearing up to be able to jump into m+ is absurdly easy.

It’s not that it’s unfriendly to casuals it’s just that EVERYTHING is a grind or has some form of gatekeeping. I will say this though, gearing has been pretty easy. I’ve done maybe 5 M+ dungeons with none higher than 7, a few bosses in normal vault as well as RF yet still have a respectable item level of nearly 390. Blizzard has done a decent job of allowing the non sweaty players a chance to get decent quality gear this time, at least so far.

With all that said I find the expansion boring but I do think it will be better by the end of it’s life. I will more than likely cancel shortly and just pick it back up in about 8-9 months. Either that or go back to Classic which to me is far superior.

Ok then its a me problem, everyone on the forums here seems to think otherwise, that’s fine. No need for feedback or improvements.

This expansion has been super ez and casual. They’ve made a lot of things bland… super ez to gear up… don’t need to do anything to get into some of the pillars of content endgame. My thing is as per ‘casual’ there isn’t much interesting things to do in the open world. Professions suck, and there is only so many feasts, hunts you can do before it just loses its appeal [which isn’t long for that to happen]. So nothing really to do on that end.

It’s a very bland experience for me.

It is for me too. Unfortunately the sad reality is near end of expansion when everything is put in, that will be the best time to experience the expansion to some extent, minus how empty the events will be so you’ll have a harder time finding people to help out in the open event stuff etc…

Seriously. This expansion might as well be sponsored by wowhead with as much time as you need to spend looking up where stuff is.

I do like a lot of the changes but it feels like they went too far with a lot of things like they usually do.

If you want gear, getting elemental flow I think is the easiest. No need to even join a group. Turn those in for 359 gear, which is already above heroic level. Get those sigils which are just as easy and turn that gear into 385 gear.

So it sounds like you are saying that casuals (open-world players?) do not have an enjoyable progression path, is that correct?

As someone who does normal/heroic raiding every xpac and a decent amount of mythic+ I can say that the quality of gear from doing world content is pretty great. Fight a rare, do a quest, do some professions, do some hunts and I was nearly set for gear to do normal raiding with maybe a couple mythic dungeons.

It’s never been easier to increase in power, it just seems to cap quicker before doing mythic+ or raids.

On a separate note, the raid fights are pretty damn fun. Eragog is a great first boss and most of the other bosses have great mechanics. You’re really missing out if you’re not at least doing raid finder this expac.

Heres a wierd idea, maybe try to play the game without looking up where everything is and how to get it on wowhead then complain theres no challenge or the like?

This is imo the actual problem is many are not actually playing the game, they are trying to endgame min/max by the end of the 1st month.

They dont read any quests, just use addons and wowhead and follow the arrow. No effort, no challenge, and no satisfaction for completion.

Then you come to forum and complain about gates and everything else keeping you from beating 2 years of progression in a month.

I use wowhead too, when I’m completely stuck, but i find its much more enjoyable to just play the game.

Casual as they come now. I haven’t stepped foot in heroics yet either and already 380 ilvl. I’ve been having an absolute blast doing open world content with everyone else running around.

there’s so many ways to gear up that dungeons/raiding is no longer the only progression method. This has been one of the best changes to WoW since… badge gear became a thing imho.

There is always a reward for doing stuff now. whether it’s grinding rep, renown, transmogs, pets, mounts, gear, upgrades to existing gear. professions. everything is bascially viable

heck. if you just want to farm elementals and get a full set of gear. Go nuts!

Wowhead was more a result of WoW doing these secrets, not the opposite really.

Heck, We’ve needed to go to third party sites since vanilla to find most of them. I still have my print copy of the 1.0 player’s guide somewhere. because you weren’t figuring out most of the stuff without it or something like thotbot.

Who complained about no challenge? Though flying all over creation looking for a turn in person isn’t challenging anyway, it’s just tedious. The gameplay people want is actually doing the fun stuff.
