Dragonflight is already better…

How am I wrong when it’s fact since there are lots of positive reviews and those who were critical of the games story did a 180.

Had to make one of these didn’tcha, seeing that FF thread, lol

Yeah sure keep on thinking that your game is somehow better than say World of Warcraft dragonflight (when in fact dragonflight acts as a reset to the narrative due to it having a 5 year time jump)

I tell my kids “don’t yuck someone else’s yum”, and I think that applies here too

More like a more detailed and refined and more descriptive version of it.

Real gamers, play many games, and critique good and bad of it regardless.

Keep on saying what you are saying because all the lore and story content creators already approves dragonflight story.

Funny, coming from someone who threatened to quit WoW because of what they recently announced with WQ, then took back lol.

Yeah, let me know where you are getting your bogus data!

If this expansion was so well received why are there less subs?

This doesn’t even make any sense. I enjoy WoW too, you know.

I dare you to find a quote where I said those words.

you already edited them, from the last time i pointed this out. big smile

Doesn’t make sense let me make it clearer.

I follow plenty lore and story content creators and many of them are enjoying and appreciating the narrative beats in Dragonflight.

Guessing you must be an intern at Blizzard that was ordered by Morally Gray Hozzikostas to sign in on the forums and write this because your praise reads like P.R.

  • Engaging? Questionable. Certainly at first. But that’s arguably because the player base of WoW as a whole was so done with Shadowlands and ready and eager to move on from the worst expansion WoW has seen to date. So saying it’s the most engaging isn’t saying much when the game already hit its lowest point ever.

  • More interesting? Yes and no. The dragonflights’ stories are fine (for the most part, one glaring exception so far but won’t spoil) but I can’t be bothered to care about the primalists or the primal dragons. They feel like a rehashed version of the Twilight’s Hammer cult that Blizzard dusted off, repackaged and are now reselling us.

  • More Creative? Well the customizable mounts are cool and the attempt at dragonriding as an alternative to conventional flying was ambitious but that doesn’t necessarily mean “better.” I for one advocate strongly that I haaaaaate dragonriding with a passion and I’m probably going to take a break from the game because of it more than anything else tbh. At least until they put normal flying back in.

I like the customizable drakes just fine but dragonriding as a means of transportation around the isles is more inconvenient in nearly every way than just the flying we’ve had since Burning Crusade.

  • More Fun? Definitely not. One could almost argue that the game launched with a content drought. If you’re not doing raids/mythics/pvp then the solo world contest is a grind. World quests now only reset on Tuesdays and Fridays and there aren’t enough of them to warrant the gap between resets other than Blizzard’s trying to limit how quickly people gain reputation with the factions of the Dragon Isles.

With the types of WQ’s we had from their inception in Legion until Shadowlands, we’d probably have people who were maxed out with the accords by now. Blizzard has attempted to compensate with events that happen every few hours in game i.e. the soup event for the tuskarr, Dragonbane Keep for Valdrakken, and the hunts for the centaur?

But the Expedition gets nothing at all. They are literally just a tedious grind. Furthermore the rep rewards from most of the timed events aren’t worth the bother after you do them once or twice in a given week, save the soup event for the tuskarr.

In fact I’ve so little to do in the Dragon Isles when it’s not Tuesday or Friday that I actually go back to Shadowlands to try and acquire mounts and covenant stuff I didn’t get before that expansion ended.

And don’t even get me started on everything they screwed up with all the changes made to professions in Dragonflight.

  • Friendlier? No. I would almost argue hell no. Certainly not for alts. Grinding rep and professions on my main has been bad enough, and the story is fine the first time through but it just becomes a tedious grind on alts. I’ve no desire to play them just because my main is so exhausting.

Same with gearing. Gearing is boring. If you’re solo-oriented like myself, you’re supposed to go do the primal storms. But they’re usually in elite areas meaning you’re forced to find a raid group to mow them down and farm dust in order to get gear, and there’s no quests in terms of deep, meaningful, lore-based quests or even dailies involved with them. Just a once-a-week quest you get for getting 75 dust, and a token from each element to upgrade the base gear you get. How exciting.

There’s no arguing this point. But that’s not saying much either. While Blizzard’s music department has damn near always knocked it out of the park, it’s not enough to carry the expansion entire.

Yes, but again, we’re talking about as compared the expansion in the most recent memory of the game before DF i.e. Shadowlands, and that’s not a high bar to clear. Everything was either gray or muted/washed out color in Shadowlands so not difficult to beat.

No. Not even close. The story is basic. It hits all the notes it needs to hit, but does nothing exceptional. And the story that is unlocked after hitting renown 19 for the Valdrakken Accord is just downright bad as it contradicts itself and left me going “Why did we bother to go through this entire thing if you’re just going to undo the entire point of our doing it at the finish line!?”

The story for WoW is so frustrating because they have Christie Golden on staff as their head writer but I swear she must be pulling her hair out due to interference from the suits. Those who have read any of her novels she’s written for WoW know she can write an incredible story in the WoW setting. The story since she was hired on feels like the suits won’t let her take off the handcuffs and really flex her muscles as a writer to give us a deep, compelling, and truly fantastic story for the game itself.

Ok. Sorry, what’s that got to do with ffxiv?

Sure, keep on making excuses. What I said was if this game didn’t had any blood elves I would’ve quit. And not from the World quest debacle

You’re a typical WoW fanboy we get it, you make these types of threads all the time.

I am supporter and will defend this game.

You mean the streamers being payed by Blizzard?

The only expansion better than Dragon Flight is Mist of Pandaria.

Dragon Flight really is a blessing.
