Draggin'flyte vs endwalker

I would prob play final fantasy if

  1. It didn’t look so bad. I know this is subjective, but it looks terrible. Everything has a sort of gray tinge to it. It’s like an all-gray color palette. Zero saturation. The toons all kind of have the same effeminate look to them too, whereas wow has a gaggle of different races with totally different tones.

  2. It had serious pvp. I don’t even do pvp that much in WoW, more of a pve-er, but the fact that it’s such a sham in FF is a big no for me.

  3. It had the same following as wow. It just doesn’t. The countless websites, content creators, yearly events, etc. centered around WoW is unrivaled.

Do you know why WoW’s subscriber’s have fallen?

It’s nearly a 20-year-old game.

It’s really that simple. No game retains peak subscribers 2 decades later. The fact that WoW is going this strong is a testament to its greatness. No. 1 MMORPG for another two decades probably, and people will say it’s “dying” the whole time until then too, just like they have been for the past 10 years.

Not a chance. WoW is fun, but FFXIV is superior on every way.

Geez. If you find levelling boring in FFXIV just…wow. Especially when compared to WoW.

You have serious issues then.

As someone that plays both games, I don’t understand how people say FFXIV looks bad. It is graphically superior to WoW in every way possible.

Yeah, I don’t think you’re playing FFXIV if you think this.

Hello, I see you replied to the thread. I can understand the complaint about the “brightness” of the game, I use gshade to alter some stuff to make things pop more! It’s not something that would stop me from playing it but everyone is different, haha!

My problem with WoW in terms of looks is the horrible, HORRIBLE armor! Most of the armor is painted on and it looks completely terrible when you come from a game like FF14 or Destiny 2! The transmog system in WoW is great but the actual items to transmog are terrible! I’m so sick of armor that looks like it was painted on with a leaky airbrush and various pieces randomly floating off of your character instead of being properly attached, haha! FF14 looks so, so, SO much better in this department! They still have a few instances of poor textures and some clipping here and there but it’s a night and day difference compared to WoW where weapons will literally clip through the ground or even your head, haha!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

Haha your posts always make me grin. So professional.

FF XIV’s Endwalker has had its highs and lows. With every good addition, they just can’t seen to stop shooting themselves in the foot elsewhere. Every patch has had some pretty poor design and/or major bugs present.

WoW’s Dragonflight has seemingly been at least trying to appease someone as opposed to no one at all which was, at least in my opinion, the case with BfA and SL. Despite its bugs and other problems, I think DF is starting to gain the high ground here.

All of that said, it doesn’t need to be an “us vs them” scenario. Play what you want to play. It’s really that simple. Both games do some things better than the other, so it really does come down to personal preference.

It’s nice to see some people here actually tell their problems with another game in a calm way, without just trashing it pointlessly (probably without any expierence whatsoever in that game).

I agree with you that the cartoonish look of wow has more charm and I too prefer that over Eorzea’s look. That said however, the world (of warcraft) is one of several reasons why I don’t like wow anymore. I already wrote it in another thread:

There is just so much wrong with Azeroth, even with Chromie’s timeline…
As a rpg fan that alone would be a reason for me to quit, if it wasn’t for the nice memories I have with this game… the very reason why I’ve foolishly gave them so many second chances and now returned for Dragonflight, only to quit again after a rather short period of time.

Blizzard patches new zone after new zone to their holey and dusty world, sometimes putting new shreds over old parts and the result is just… embarrassing to look at.

That is why I prefer ff14s world in the end. Everything fits together lorewise, even if doesn’t have the cartoon look.

And while the playable races in ff14 are rather boring, you get actual customizations in that game. Sliders, color palettes for skin and hair, body types, all races are allowed to get all hair styles, dyeable gear, the list goes on. Not to mention that men don’t look like clunky gorillas in that game with old cranky faces.
What do we get in wow? If we’re lucky 5 new hair colors every few months… great.

I can’t comment on the pvp part. For me one of the most important things is the story and the story in ff is just… breathtaking. It actually makes you feel things.
The only thing wow’s lore makes me feel is cringe and second-hand embarrassment. It does have it’s moments, yes, but with all it’s retcons, npcs constantly gaining or loosing strength randomly, forgotten plot lines and plot holes in general, cheesy writing… well

2 of my friends are into raiding, though. Accoring to them it’s a lot of fun, if you want to go hardcore. I went the casual route. Raiding and pvp was never my thing. :man_shrugging: I prefer exploring the story and player housing of course.^^

That part I would say is only in your head. There is a very devoted following for ff14. Not that it should matter in my opinion.

Problem with FFXIV is that the raiders are mostly cheaters that break the ToS. It’s one thing to use addons in WoW, but lol they break ToS and pretend they didn’t use addons. Game is a joke.

I’m sure we’ll miss the random level 10 goblin.

I wish WoW had FF14’s armor physics and dye system. But I also wish that FF14 had WoW’s transmog system.

I know what you’re talking about and calling most raiders are cheaters is by far the biggest most ignorant thing I’ve heard on the forums today. Granted that’s not saying much because I’ve only been browsing them for like 20minutes but regardless.

As a person that raids in 14 the majority of raiders aren’t cheaters. Every game has cheaters that doesn’t mean that the majority does it.

There are people that are completely rude in WoW does that mean the majority of people are rude? No.

Yes the people who beat the current Ultimate first DID cheat by using a mod that allowed you to zoom out your camera further. But that’s not the norm.

Your take is stupid, and you’re a clown for having such a stupid take.

“Well dur 1 person in da raid did it so evrybudy dat plays da game is cheata”

That’s you.

Also to The OP.

I complain about every WoW expansion most of the time and this is the first one that I’m actually enjoying in a long time. Dragonflight has it’s problems but this is the first expansion in 2 expansions where the problems aren’t overwhelming to make it completely unfun. No artifact power, no required renown for power, no random legendary drops, no required crafted legendary, no farm soul ash to make a legendary.

It’s just, log in, play the game. My biggest gripe is the political crap that’s all in game but I can ignore it for now because I’m actually having fun.

As for Endwalker I loved it and still love FF14, Endwalker isn’t as good as Shadowbringers but it is good. The dumbing down of some classes is a little upsetting but still a great game.

Using ACT in FFXIV is cheating. The majority of raiders use ACT. The vast majority of people playing FFXIV cheat according to the ToS. Sorry. The argument of “it’s allowed according to the rules” works in WoW, but there is no getting away with the cheating label in FFXIV. Dirty rotten.

Do you even know what ACT does?

I know it’s against the ToS. It is the equivalent of details or recount. It adds your damage contributions up real time to give you a live performance metric.

Here it isn’t against ToS, there it is.

Imagine cheating and lying.

ACT is a damage meter.

Yoshida has stated multiple times talking about ACT that it’s actually a grey area that is allowed under the Don’t talk about it and nothing will happen.

It’s not cheating because it doesn’t doesn’t actually impact your game play, what happened with the cheating was actual modifications which WERE cheating. ACT runs outside your game in the background reading a log file that displays in real time.

Yoshi just said there is no grey area and you’re all coping with being cheaters. Sad.

Gonna cry?

Lol cool story bro, it’s obvious you don’t know jack.

I’ll normally argue with people about stupid crap, but I won’t bring myself down to arguing with a Dracthyr.

As I have mentioned previously, the terms of service for FINAL FANTASY XIV state that the use of third-party tools is strictly prohibited. This has always been the case and will continue to be so, and unless announced otherwise, there are no plans to enact any changes.

I have come across posts from individuals that say things along the lines of, “Yoshida allows the use of third-party tools, so it’s fine to use them.” However, let me make it clear that I have never permitted the use of these tools. You may find information below from past posts and livestreams which outline my stance and policies surrounding third-party tools.

Is reading not your forte? You have to have a point in order to argue, you are simply being spoken down to. Don’t confuse argument with being scolded. There is a difference.
