Draggin'flyte vs endwalker

Best of luck. I’m nowhere close to getting there myself, mostly because I level in a certain way that many would consider insane and may be part of the cause of my disinterest, lol. But I also enjoy it so I don’t know.

Having the house I’ve wanted for a long time at least helps. It’s been fun putting that together, and it’s coming along nicely. Got one next to my two friends so we have a little neighborhood section. I just wish I liked the game more, I keep hearing about how amazing it is and I just haven’t clicked onto that. Makes me feel like my tastes are wrong because even among my friend group, it’s constant discussion about how good FF14 is and how much better it is than WoW. It’s definitely an isolating feeling not being involved in that talk.

You’re not doing all the sidequest, do you?
The best way of getting into the story is by playing the Main Story Quest (alongside your job questline) first and then all the sidequests. Otherwise it would be too distracting with the mass of quests there are.
Just a tip, though. You can of course play it the way you enjoy it the most.

All side quests and I’m not moving to a new expansion until I level everything up (crafting included). So…yeah, it takes me a long time to finish, haha. I know focusing on main story is the better way to go, I just have no drive or interest in focusing on it because I have yet to find the world interesting or appealing.

I suppose main issue is I’m not big on elves or humans in most games, and that’s pretty much what FF14 is. The most interesting stories I’ve done have been the Beast Tribes because it isn’t content I’ve seen a dozen times over with a different can of paint, but those aren’t that big or important over all. And they’re relegated to side content locked behind dailies. I cared more about getting the Vanu Vanu free of their oppressors and helping the Ixali than I do any of the main cast, so once I was done with those I got bored again.

Didn’t help I put in over 100 hours trying to get a house early on and was told by multiple house owners how pathetic we were to not have a house already, and proceed to relocate theirs to the spot me and some other people had been camping.

Ah, I see. I agree that in case of races it’s mostly about humans and elves and that is really a bummer. Personally I love the story to bits, especially later on, but I can understand the lack of different species can be disappointing. Apart from Hrothgar there isn’t much to choose from.

The Lupin could have been a nice addition:
The Lupin exhibit many characteristics of a wolf, their feral features accompanied by sharp-clawed fingers, and a thickly furred tail. Domans once called them “Jinro” or “Manwolf”, but this term has mainly been supplanted by "Lupin-a name common in Ilsabard and western regions, and said to originate from ancient Elezen folklore. In addition to their impressive agility, Lupin are able to detect the faintest of sounds and boast a heightened sense of smell. They also have poor eyesight, but a wide field of vision, granting them a superior ability to track movement.

In the end though it wasn’t really much done with them storywise. So I can understand your frustration regarding beast races in ff.

Yeah, I play a Hrothgar. It’s one of the saddest examples of a playable beast race I’ve seen in MMOs (though nothing will hold a candle to Charr from Guild Wars 2, that is how to do a beast race right there) and having none be part of the main cast really makes me feel out of place on my character. Like I don’t exist in the world, I’m playing something completely disconnected. But I don’t like the other races since yeah, everything is human or elf.

And that’s not to say I can’t enjoy a story that focuses on humans and elves. Heavensward was a great experience, I thoroughly enjoyed everything in it and that was my motivator to keep playing. But Stormblood felt like running into a brick wall, and all that momentum Heavensward gave me basically came to a screeching halt. Been trying to restart it but there’s just nothing there. No dragons to be excited about helping or fighting, just…whatever Stormblood has going on. I barely remember anymore.

Shadowbringers will introduce a somewhat important Hrothgar, but yes, compared to humans and elves… can’t even compare how much more prominent those in the story are…

I save as many side quests as i can for other jobs i want to play. My main is a sam, but i have a drg close, a dancer and gunblade close, and a dark knight in the 40s. It’s just so tedious trying to level with dunheons and the area events. At least the quests offer some back and forth. Mindlessly killing can be fun from time to time, though.

I liked him, the man was born to be a weapon and he knew it. Searching battlefield from battlefield for meaning he encountered us. And despite us being the Warrior of Light he soundly defeated us the first encounter and was our wall. Near the end of it all my WoL did consider him something of a friend.

FF14 is a decent single player JRPG with an online community, but that’s about it.

I always find it funny when people say it’s more of a MMORPG than WoW is considering it’s even more of a lobby simulator.

I wish this dated game was mentioned as an Oldschool runescape.

But these people are there for the game that has nothing to do with the MMO experience.

It really sucks, and I bet if they put back the NPC Afriasabi and other things they’ve censored in the game, they’re going to do the opposite of supporting the game.

They are just populist of a dying game that hides from game rot through a honeymoon.

In fact, the only thing WoW died was in China, and on top of that, its copy+paste WoWkiller MMO is coming.

OP here.

You haters cant stop our song
