Dracthyr Race Mount?

(New to posting, bear with me)

You know what I wanna know? What’s the Dracthyr race mount gonna be?
Worgens have horses, Taurens have Kodo, Orcs have wolves, race mounts are (usually) related with the race one or the other. They have something similar to “Running Wild” and Demon Hunter gliding, but that doesn’t seem like it’d be a “mount” good enough to really deny any other race mount ideas.

I’m personally tired of not seeing enough “transforming” mounts, similar to the Sandstone Drake, or even considering that one Blue Drake thing you get from the Firelands Staff. For Dracthyr, they’re Dragons… people/Blizzard say them “riding on Dragons would be awkward”.

Why not make them turn into Dragons?
No, seriously. Why not give them a really basic “Drake Form” as their Race Mount? It doesn’t have to be anything special, but it would really spice up the race. Yes, they can turn into tiny little Dragon men, but it would be truly badass to get a really basic Drake mount as their race mount. It could even have the old model if they’re worried about how much work it’d be. It would be a private personal mount. No one could ride them or anything, and you couldn’t use it on other characters, it would just be a fun new idea.

Not sure. Thoughts? Let me know if I missed some sort of Dragonflight update where they tell you about the race mount lmao

Dracthyr Soar is the racial mount, for good or for ill.

I wouldn’t be opposed to a “final form” transformation, but I don’t think that fits well with the actual conception of the race. There is a reason that they are Dracthyr and not Dragons, wholesale, after all.

That’s fair enough. I would like for more transforming Dragon mounts from this xpac at least. We definitely don’t have enough of those, and I thought a “form” would be real unique to the Dracthyr, but it does make sense that they wouldn’t have something like that considering they’re different than normal Dragons.

Personally I think they don’t need a mount. They are Dragonoids, they have wings. Let them fly, even if it’s just above the ground (like legless flying mounts in areas with no flying).

They are experiments created creatures. We are visage form turned into dracthyr dragons.

They could at least make the Dracthyr’s Soar cooldown start after use, instead of having it start after you land.

They don’t need to become something they are already.
All blizzard need to do is remove that stupid 5 mim cd completely. It must to be like worgen running and druid travel form.

The drakthyr racial mount will be a horse… but a horse that looks dragon-like.

I misunderstood the title of this thread — Y’see, I thought you were imposing like a PvP match: Not in combat, but a speed & guile race through the skies against other Dracthyr that earns you a mount for the race and class upon victory. :checkered_flag:  :checkered_flag:

That’d be wicked cool!

Worgens weren’t suppose to get a mount because of the Running Wild racial. Blizz only gave them the mountain horse after a bunch of people whined that since the goblins had a mount it wasn’t fair… Horde bias … yadda yadda…

Currently there is no racial mount for Dracthyr; it seems from their starting zone they never needed a mount (even with Soar being a five minute cooldown that starts only upon landing) so they will use the mounts of the faction they side with.

Furthermore, since Dracthyr learn Visage as part of putting Stormwind Guards and Orgrimmar Grunts at ease, why aren’t the Visage forms tied to faction even if only initially? Have Dracthyr that side with the Alliance choose Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, or Gnome Visages while Dracthyr who side with the Horde choose Orc, Tauren, Troll, or Blood Elf Visages. Then they can learn other Visages from a race-specific questline that perhaps can also reward heritage armor?
