Dracthyr NEED full Transmog and an additional body-type

Thats the chicken/egg scenario i think about sometimes. Is it called earth because it’s made of dirt, or is dirt called earth because it comes from earth. Would we say we unearthed something on mars? Would we call a jar of mars dirt mars?

I hope i don’t come off as combative, these are genuine thoughs inside my brain.

Dracthyr are an incomplete race and should have their armor morphs finished and other races unlocked for visages. They shouldn’t have wasted all the time making special customizations for the visages in the first place, just let us pick any race and slap some draconic eyes in their sockets.

Their head design could use some adjustments too, they still don’t look like Warcraft dragons.

Full gear/mog and a bulkier form is precisely what they need. I might actually play mine then.

It’s actually an interesting topic that comes up when reading/writing fantasy literature.

“Earth” is just one easily seen example of how localized language can be. The most easily accepted explanation is the fact that people in fantasy settings obviously are not speaking English because English, and England, don’t exist wherever they’re from. It can be assumed that the author is doing the work of “translating” for us, and using the best words that work in our language.

Hence, Azeroth has earth elementals despite having zero idea what or where a planet called Earth might be.

As far as terminology we’d use on Mars goes - yeah we’ll probably just keep using words like ‘unearthed’ because language is funny like that. Hell, look a few million years in the future and some colony out in Alpha Centauri Nowhere might need a linguist to tell them what that even means lol

Dont call my comment inappropriate. Thats comment shaming. I identify as offensive.

Look; it’s plainly obvious that I’m asking for a beefier option. I don’t want to get down in a bunch of pedantic gatekeeping over semantics; I don’t care if you want to call it “Male”, or “Body 1/A”, I just want a larger body option with more traditional Warcraft proportions.

I think that would probably satisfy a major part of my own issues with the Dracthyr, although I think full transmog is also not only reasonable, but fully expected for any new race.

I would rather play on visage form than this furry abomination

lol.

Give and take people. Give dracthyr the ability to mog armor normally and let the rest of us hide our pants. No, seriously why are dracthyr allowed to walk about with no pants on while the rest of us are stuck trying to find obscure mogs to fill the role of a hide pants option.

Bulkier necks, shoulders, upper arms and head as an additional body size would really help. Being able to separate transmogs as well. Full race unlocks with primal/glow eyes for visage would be the cherry on top.

Sadly, knowing Blizzard they’d see all this and be like “All right, payers. We see and hear you! So we’re announcing that the Maruuk centaurs will be a new neutral playable race!”

Haha, so true!

I’d take a mini Highland Drake allied race for another Evoker.

If they can do Tauren, they can do Dracthyr.

I’m thinking I might throw in the towel for 10.1. There are a lot of cool sets coming out, and I can’t enjoy that on my Evoker.

At that point, just add playable Drakonid.

I just couldn’t get over how stupid dracthyr look with the shoulders and piece of a belt when in dragon form. It just looks so stupid. I would have preferred it if they had treated it as a meta form like DH. At least it wouldn’t look as bad as it does now.

It’s honestly just odd looking at the Dracthyr. I can’t fathom how they came to this design, with eerily feminine “human” proportions, when they absolutely nailed the revamped Drakonids (well, their snouts are a bit goofy, imo).

Like I said, I’d just really embrace a new body-type, and full transmog options.

Either those, or using optional, cosmetic-only dragon models in combat.

Also, being able to unlock other races for your Visage would also be great.

Honestly, the most I play, the more I’m bothered by them.

The core idea was just so cool – a “playable dragon” class/race! But it feels like they completely missed the mark with the Dracthyr as they currently are.

As this point, I genuinely think the only way to salvage the Dracthyr are as followed:

  1. Allow players to choose a Visage of any race on their faction

  2. Add a new, much bulkier and more squared-looking body type (like the Drakonids, or even the Stone Gargoyles from Shadowlands)

  3. Add full transmog support (barring cloaks and helms) for said forms

Oh, and I’ll also throw in “a better looking double-jump animation for Visage forms” across the board. Maybe something like the old Warlock Tier 6 set, where a pair of wings quickly appear and then fade away?

Absolutely. I hate that I can spend over an hour trying to devise a new look and come up empty. I’d consider that a personal failing if not for the fact that I can churn out great and unique (and humble) looks in seconds. My main has been a Shaman since launched - coming up with a decent mail transmog should not be difficult.

Let Dracthyr mog helm, and make Kul’Tiran size option available to our body size selection.

Yeah, I’ve honestly tried all I can do to make stuff work, but even for the good selection of recolors for their “barbershop-armor”, there’s just no hope of it being able to match the EXACT shades of color used in so many other sets.

Plus, I’m personally hoping that with Evokers being Mail-users, we might see more “battle-mage” style gear, like Wrathion or Khadgar (who is a Mage, I’m aware, but I think the theme fits).

Really, until there is full transmog, the Dracthyr are just always going to feel incomplete.

And again, I’d also REALLY dig a bulkier body type as well. I’d even be fine with it being a touch shorter and stockier (just to further differentiate it), something closer to the Drakonids’ body, or the Stoneborn General in Shadowlands.
