Honestly? Even boots should be added. Give us the spats that trolls, Draenei, Tauren, and Worgen get. This isn’t a new situation or challenge at all. I truly do not understand where they’re coming from or what they’re trying to accomplish with this.
Very true. I want a subtle hermit-like look on the Visage form with a grandiose, bestial look on my draconic form. Even if transmog carried over fully to the draconic form, I wouldn’t be able to accomplish that as is.
The Dracthyr body was not designed to be able fit with old armor models, and they either bind improperly to the mesh or clip. Dracthyr were simply made to fit a aesthetic roll, and their class armor is also designed to fit into that theme.
Moving on to a quick question about Evoker, are there any plans to include more armor pieces showing while in dragon form?
This is a really fun topic, you know our art team knocked it out of the park with Evokers in particular. There’s such an incredible amount of customization with them. I’m gonna butcher the number but I’ve heard the trivia item thrown around at the team where there is more Evoker customization options available in terms of combinations they can create, than there are grains of sand on the planet. And I’m like, I don’t know who’s gonna verify that, I’m not going to, but I believe you when you tell me that. Someone did the math I’m sure. So yeah, that’s something that is really important to us, is having all these customization options available to you and being able to really show them off and see them. And with the Evoker in particular, something that we focused on was the question of is what is the most iconic and most visible pieces of armor? Shoulders immediately come to mind, it’s that major silhouette changing, Warcraft has a beloved history of shoulder armor in particular and their scale and size and how big or small they are over time. So that was one we knew we wanted to add there, but we also wanted to make sure that the Evoker’s customization options and their identity of that dragon class, that dragon race was still very noticeable. Certainly something that we could change, but ultimately we’re really happy with where we landed on that one, and we feel like especially with sets coming back and that awesome class fantasy there we wanted to see that represented on the Evokers, but not kind of completely covering up all those awesome dragon aesthetics.
Emphasis mine. “Certainly something that we could change.” It’s a philosophical choice. Not a mechanical one.
Furthermore, the stated philosophy of not adding transmog in order to get Dracthyr to show more skin is directly contradicted by the already existing armour options.
That doesn’t really solve the issue though, because this extends beyond the Dracthyr armor. Blizzard is really inconsistent with a lot of armor not matching with each other with materials that should be the same. Usually you can offset this in transmog since there’s largely a huge amount of pieces you can use, but with Dracthyr since there’s only a few tints and you HAVE to use that armor or none at all, the fact that (at least from what I browsed through) match close enough to where it’s not noticeable sucks hard.
Blizzard has said “could” on multiple occasions. If it was already possible than they would have in beta. There are still issues, and will require more time.
Your CONFORMITY has nothing to do with a race that is worse than the spit that Blizzard made to ask for other more well-known races and that have been denied for obvious reasons because their customization was not relevant to their design as it is now with the Drachthyr.
But with the little love that was given to the transmog and the new gears coming from raids and dungeons of the latest expansions, other npc such as Kirians, demons and other NPCs even from the vanilla that our characters have had.
Apart from other customizations that are JUST being included, such as the use of seeing our long hairstyles in caps and hats.
I would love to main my Dracthyr, Evokers are super fun… But, I know the transmog issue will just keep annoying me over time and I’ll get tired of them quickly. Dracthyr feel like an allied race to me right now and not the main feature of an expansion. A classless allied race with a bunch of racial abilities.
My thing is if they truly cannot get armor to work on the Dracthyr, I feel like we should have way more beastly options to choose from. I’d almost say giving them a “Running Wild” animation, with them on all fours, but bulked up a little, would look close enough to a dragon it might actually work.
But yeah, I think the best solution would simply be to get armor working on them. Understand that I said simple; not easy. I have no doubt there’s work involved. However, I think this is something that should be a top priority.
Similarly, I would definitely like to have more options for a Visage. I don’t even care about the “special dracthyr options”, I just don’t think the Blood Elf model looks good wearing Mail armor.
They are small dragons not Humanoids - Do you see Shoulders and Belt on a Bear or a Cat or a Tree? How is Dracthyr any different. You can see all your xmogs in your your visage form.
If you have issues with Xmogs not being on Drac’thyr then you should be complaining about Druid bears not being able to wear pants? It’s insane and stupid STOP COMPALINING ffs
Its Dracthyr are NO different then Druids
In due time we might have different Evoker Looks similar to different bears, cats, and travel forms.
Absolutely wrong. Dracthyr are CLEARLY humanoid – if they weren’t, we wouldn’t be complaining. Druids turn into ACTUAL Bears and Cats.
In all the animated shorts, Dracthyr are shown running around with armor and weapons, and they clearly are human-looking running around on two legs and two hands to cast spells.
Personally, I’d have been stoked beyond belief if they were anything like proper Dragons. But they’re not. They’re humanoid.
