At the end the point stands. Its not a matter if they could or couldn’t raise them. But rather if they would dare to knowing they are a provocation away to entering a war with a now Azeroth empowered Dragon Queen and probably the rest of the flights who will most likely rally alongside her. This will not go the way it did in Legion. A single dragon was able to yeet the Deathlord out of a mountain in BFA just with their roar which means the red dragons in legion were most probably holding back.
Like someone mentioned here, giving recent events, the other races would more likely take the dragons side than the DKs. It wouldn’t be the first time they are sent back home with casualties for trying to raise someone they shouldn’t have
You cant change the lore without RPG consequences like you can a class. This is an MMORPG the last time I checked.
Yes, they literally were and you admit to it saying it was very clearly Bolvar doing the raising… HE WAS THE LICH KING. This is actually a point to me. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation DK’s were all created by the Lich King. The 1st generation DK’s has absolutely nothing to do with the scourge DK’s. Even the 4 Horsemen were created by the Lich King in Legion though the player, he granted you limited power to raise those 4.
The mixture between the plague and red dragon flame did reanimated him, remember he was in center of the plague that was closing in on him and red dragons came in nick of time before he would suffer the fate like the rest in the cinematic
If this was true then there would have been hundreds of soldiers that this would have happened to. Bolvar was strong with the light, and that was helping against the new plague of the forsaken.
you mean came in the nick of time before he died like everyone else? How can they come in the nick of time before he would suffer the same fate of everyone else, but also raise him from the dead?
If he is on the brink of death then thats not being dead. So how was he reanimated? These words dont work together. If he was dying then he wasnt reanimated, he was saved. How do you reanimate the living?
That particular “Forsaken Apocathary Plague” wasn’t made to reanimate like the “Undeath Plague” that Ner’Zhul created. It was specifically created to kill everything including the undead.
I get what you are mentioning but that incoherent to my point how the red dragon raising the dead from your earlier comment…When we both know that Bolvar was just brink of death and pretty much suffering
So how did the red dragonflight raise him from the dead? If hes not dead and hes suffering, and then hit with the flames of life (healing flames) how… how? Help me understand here.
I’m not disputing that last point. Most people agree that Bolvar wasn’t dead when the fire struck. Like I mentioned there’s debate about it but I side with the fact that he wasn’t dead yet, because it’s apparent in the cinematic, he just couldn’t be saved.
The fire both ended his life, and reanimated him, that’s why he’s imbued with the Red’s magic fire.
Pretty much. One of the new DK recolour sets looks very Bolvar-ish with the fire effects. I hope they move towards Dracthyr DKs, even if only a few people want it. If it’s cool, why not make it happen?
I mean if DKs got the power to raise the dead like they done with Whitemane, Nazgrim, and Trollbane, I see why not they can raise Dracthyr to be Dks allies
There are several reasons for her lack of inaction at that time. First and foremost it was not the time, the Legion threat was currently present.
Comprehension. The red dragon in bfa reveals that they are aware of the violent nature of DKs and that their actions could have been guided for a “higher end” albeit extreme purpose to help the Deathlord in his fight agaisnt the Legion. Despite that its evident by her special dialogues with dks later that she has not forgotten.
Protecting her remaining brood; This was a moment where new dragon eggs were not hatching, and the Deathlord had left the red dragons on the verge of extinction after their little visit. Also the flights were scattered at the time and she lost her aspect powers in Cata so waging war agaisnt the artifact empowered Deathlord and the ebon blade who were backed up by the new Lich King at the moment. She might still have won, but probably would have had many casualties on the remaining red dragons she couldn’t risk.
Things are different now. Her powers are back, the flights are united, she no longer has to worry about her flight going extinct. The DKs no longer have the backup of the Lich King nor artifact weapons. Its quite possible the only reason she hasn’t taken action now its a combination of both her forgiving nature and that the DKs did helped save the world at the end. But still she has no reason to tolerate provocation anymore.
Heck probably Vyranoth herself would have already done the deed if she finds out what happened. She literally invaded the Halls of Valors and left Odyn frozen just because he had storm drakes under servitude. If she knew another class order nearly caused the extinction of a Flight in order to raise one of them as a mount she probably would came down crashing into Acherus the very same day
There you have the reason why she would do absolutely nothing about if Darion decide to raise dracthyr and other new races as death knights
Its for a higher end
Girlboss moment aside, those are real dragons, elemental ones at that, you are overstimating how much they would care about Dracthyr who are already dead.
We will not be invading their homes to kill and raise then it as undead, like what happened in legion, we would be merely grabbing disposed bodies in the battlefield to give then a new purpose and chance to fight for their own cause again.
As I said earlier. Dracthyr DKs can be those who chose to fight even in death.
Either their souls won’t rest and Bolvar or some other powerful Death Knight raises them, beacause their ghost asked them to.
Or they signed an organ donors card with the Ebon Order. If dead, please resuscitate.
