Dracthyr - Battle Visage

It’s not just them

It’s more people then you think, a lot of people hate visage

Even non-scalies. I know people who main elves with an Evoker alt and they think visage is stupid

It’s almost as if people want the draconic race to be… draconic

Alternatively, if you don’t want to shift into visage… Don’t. This change isn’t for you and it not fitting with your sensibilities isn’t really anyone’s problem but your own.

Right, because your dissenting opinion boils down to “I don’t like it, so no one should have it”.

This update is fantastic for Dracthyr! The Battle Visage toggle in 12.0.5 makes switching between Visage and Dracthyr forms seamless and really highlights their draconic identity.

Combined with the potential for Dracthyr Monks, this could do wonders for the class and the race, making them feel fresh and exciting again.

So which race should I choose if I don’t want to be a lizard with no mog…I mean…dragon and be an evoker?

I’m not a fan of this change. Then again, I wasn’t a fan of the visage form at the start of Dragonflight, and I wasn’t a fan of being able to stay in visage form as non-evoker drakthyr. For the latter, that should have come with increased damage taken, reduced damage dealt, reduced healing taken, and reduced healing dealt as a penalty. After all, why should you expect your drakthyr to perform at full capacity when it has compressed itself into an elf/human form?

Blizzard is really doing everything to not add transmog support to Dracthyr form. Not a bad change though if they aren’t ever gonna do it.

Just tie the race to the visage form at this rate so we can get other races as Evoker.

By covering up their Dragon forms with more obnoxious Blood Elves?

Oh joy, more bland people. So glad creativity exists just so these people can /spit on it.

Really, I just want the Visage form possible for the Campsite screen.

This wouldn’t be a problem if dracthyr had actual transmog.

I mean… hey Blizzard you ever consider an alternative? Give Visage form a tail and wings. No camera swapping then? We know the animations work due to muder row. When you’re disgusted as a blood elf worker everything plays just fine as an Evoker.

But the breath attack still needs a dragon mouth so it wouldn’t work. A lot of evoker attacks are based aroudn being a dragon, using mouth, claws, tails, and wings.

I see a lot of people who actually use visage in combat even as other classes, surprisingly.

I think much of the complaining is a pretty loud minority. The idea that the people who whined for years that the dracthyr should be some misshapen brick wall race might be okay with the scrawnier high elven body is sort of funny.

I think the issue is the uncanny valley sexless humanoids don’t really appeal to anyone.

They’re repties.

Also they’re more popular than several races that people on this forum pretend are more popular.

How to say this in a way that addresses the issue without saying it to openly…

People want them to be lizards in the same way final fantasy has a lizard race with Au Ras.
That is to say sexually attrative with lizard cosplay bits.

Its the problem with monster characters… people want characters like thresh fron league of legends or they want the sexy thresh skin from league of legends. The middle ground blizzard aimed for doesnt exist.

That has very much never been the appeal of playable dragons as a concept in wow.

O sweet summer child. Let me guess you think overwatch characters are popular for their personality as well?

Y’all must be new. Before Dracthyr, and even long before Worgen, Druids were exceptionally whiney about their druid forms. If you think Dracthyr are bad, Druids were far worse. They thought they were ugly, low res, didn’t fit lore, didn’t show off the gear they worked hard to earn, etc., and that’s not to mention the initial hate for moonkin and their healer tree forms.

Eventually, finally, Blizzard caved and gave Druids updated models, then a bit later even gave them unique forms they could work towards (like the fire cat form from Firelands or the partially upright bear form from Legion). They even wound up having a lot of that customization open up and be available through the barber shop. AND THEN at some point before or after all that, Druids don’t even need to be in tree form for healing! I think it’s like… a glyph now or something?

AND THEN there’s the Worgen who complained about having to manually switch back to their human forms at the end of combat, so Blizzard gave them a toggle ability that would allow Owrgen to default to human and only transform for combat.

So really, if anything, both Druids and Worgen set the precedence for Dracthyr.

we didn’t even do anything. :frowning:

I was actually looking forward to the hilarious sight of humanoid Evokers flying over in PvP, blowing flames out of their human lips.

It would be worth the stun just for the screenshots.
