It’s okay OP, you’re allowed to sit on your GCD’s as a healer and be bad. Just don’t expect good players to invite you back.
Weird, I do just that with my resto affinity… Have saved numerous healers/tanks/dps with a well placed swiftmend and have even been complimented by the healer. I also do it when I’m feral with my non-stop free regrowths.
Guess I should stop doing that though right? Cause after all… I just signed up to dps. Why help the group with all of my tools?
Your move sir.
that is fine but if you are not maintaining 30k dps plus keeping us alive as a healer you getting kicked too
Yeah lemme just use my bandage real quick…
I love when people make posts like this trying to be sarcastic, not realizing that all good players do this
DPS shouldnt have to heal others. Not saying they shoulsnt though.
I remember when we did this, and no one complained about. Some reason these healbots think they’re above it all.
The end of debate about healers DPSing:
No caster should not be casting at any time. If no one needs healing, you’re casting damage or you’re just not good at the game.
My heals are for me. Every man for himself.
if I’m playing a dps spec with heals and I see someone about to die, you bet I’m gonna toss a quick heal on them.
kiting mobs and someone took a hit? nothing’s hitting me, I can pop out of bear and swiftmend them.
bursting week and we just finished a pack and people are ticking down? yep, throw out a wild growth.
clue in. good players use their entire toolkit.
If I am playing a class that can heal, I do heal the tank or healer if I think they need help. But not the dps. And I do frequently put my Gift of the Naaru on healers when they are busy trying to keep the tank alive.
I remember when Consumption granted party leech. Being a Blood DK in Legion was fun.
I will remember to heal when I can. You better believe I will smash that healthstone button with the force of a GD comet if I need it.
Rofl the “prevent death” defensives are always funny. Presses defensive at 5% and still dies then cries and wonders why. Like bruh, they are meant to mitigate the damage, you use it before you take the big damage not after it lol.
Every shaman and balance and feral druid: “MY TIME TO SHINE IS NOW!”
Of course you should heal if it will keep people alive…
If it’s in your toolkit, make use of it.
This is what happens when you start threads about how Healers should be doing DPS, or how Healers shouldn’t be doing DPS.
WTH did I just read.
Health pots and DPS pots don’t share a cooldown.
People are too attached to the “role” they’re assigned by Blizzard. The role is irrelevant, your only task is completing the content. Do whatever you have to do finish with the least difficulty possible.
Healers should add damage, dps should heal (in downtime or if someone is going to die), give utility to prevent damage on themselves and others, taunt mobs off healers if they tank hasn’t already done so. Tanks should be pulling in a way that compliments their dps comp as much as possible to make the run as fast and clean as they can etc.
Back in cataclysm (maybe mop?) prot warriors did insane damage while leveling so I dps’d as prot in battle stance, this is the correct way to play the game because the role itself doesn’t matter, it’s the outcome of your gameplay that matters.
As DPS, I’ll heal myself while trying to mitigate damage and help the tank. I am NOT a healer. Buzz off.
The true post should just be “use your entire toolkit at times which are appropriate when playing the game” lol.
I think the healer dpsing thing it just a bit less intuitive to people as something to actively do ![]()
