DPS Brann doing 1/4 the damage of me? I'm a tank... He is set to damage

I vote kick, but they never pass.

Don’t pretend DPS Brann does good damage at any level.

This. Brann doesnt scale with player level.

I’m level 76 and he’s still doing the same amount of damage as when I was 72 or 74…

Brann is literally useless, and many times detrimental to a good experience in delves, he should just disappear and the delves rebalanced for solo.

Sorry healers, spec dps or tank, seriously, this is a joke. Brann is a joke

Or at least make 2 modes, 1 with and one without. Dps and tanks can only go without, and healers can go with brann.

Honestly, for me Brann is the worst thing about delves, annoying, never shuts up, doesn’t do damage, poor healing, useless tank, literally hunttard pulling random mobs before you even touch them.

He’s basically everything i dislike about running with bad lfr people, and usually worse. I don’t need this, id much prefer full solo.

Honestly, torghast had a far better power system than delves, much cooler, i bet that torghast but with vault and gear rewards would have been much more appreciated.

Really dumb “weapons are worthless” take aside, DPS and heal Brann exist to do exactly 3 things (one of which is specific to his spec)

  1. Toss robo dino eggs
  2. Turn elites into my minions
  3. If healing, throw health pots and if DPS execute enemies…ideally high HP elites/bosses.

I don’t care what else he does or how much/little he is represented on the meters otherwise.

My damage must be pretty bad then. DPS Brann does alright on mine.

Your damage is on steroids because of player scaling between 70-80. Once you hit 80, your dps will drop and Brann will level out

Just give us an option at the start of the delve in his supply crate similar to a warlock’s Grimoire of Sacrifice where Brann will remain at the start of the delve and it gives you a buff based on Brann’s selected role and/or curios.

i mean he’s half wrong half right. depends on the class. for casters weapons are just stat sticks.

but warriors damage is calculated with weapon damage. silly as that is.

TIL that using his Traps increases damage taken by the mob for by 20% for 12 seconds. It’s not in any descriptions/tooltips, but it’s in the patch notes, and I verified via testing. But this damage is not in your combat logs, because it’s yours, not his.

Also I am pretty sure his execute is not reflected in combat logs because it doesn’t “do damage”. It just kills the thing. Even if it’s a T11 elite, and it did the equiv of ~20M damage, you just won’t see that.

Also, the traps do initial damage plus a stacking dot. If you use the stacks well, it can add up. Last I checked there was no limit to the stacks, so if you really want to maximize their value, you may be able to stack them pretty high on big elite mobs or bosses. Though if those mobs cast or do sequences that prevent them from moving (like the Kobolds with the fire cone), it’ll be hard to get stacks really high. Getting above 3-4 is tough, but I’ve gotten them up to like 12 on rare occasion.

His Gryphon, Devilsaur/Mechosaur and Volley all do pretty substantial damage, but only when used effectively. Some of this can be on you to make the most of… i.e. putting mobs in his Volley. Of course, if he does the volley when there’s only 1 mob left, there isn’t much you can do.

Lastly the Pinged Augment Chip does buff his damage by 35%… I think that’s all of his personal damage, including traps. I don’t think it include the Gryphon or other pets.

All in all, he definitely does substantially more damage than the other specs. But he doesn’t do substantial damage compared to players, which I think is a shame.

But yes, DPS Brann leaves a lot to be desired

DPS Brann can go into a fight, drop traps on terrible terrain and just shoot his gun or he can blow an elite pack up in 8 seconds. I use DPS Brann on easier delves because I don’t need his healing or tanking but the random chance he pops off makes things speedy.

Seems like something they should have fixed in Alpha testing of the game.

Go test it yourself and get back to me on that.

I tested this on a ret paladin as well as demon hunter and both had the same devation of overall damage. Both were using 0.6 dps (1dps 2h for Ret paladin) compared to high end weapons. The difference was about 20-25% total damage output. Go test it yourself.

Lmao no. Delves are locked to a certain tier until level 80 any way.

Leveling stuff is of no concern…to anyone

Wrong. Such a wrong answer lol

Tbere are what, 12?, slots with primary stats on them ( if both trinks do). So main and offhand are slightly more than 1/6 because they have more stats on each than other slots. So 20 to 25 percent drop sounds about right. Nothing controversial here.

This is esoteric level trolling, well done.

Yeah, that’s what I said. They are just stat sticks for Main Stat.

Oh, you sweet summer child.

Everyone who has been playing for many years has seen the same story from one of their raid’s dps:

"OMG
I wondered why my damage was so low
Had a fishing pole equipped for the first 2 bosses :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: "
