Double legendary gold sink

This is really good advice thank you for breaking this down capslock

I hadn’t considered the ilevel increase on the last bosses

No, it’s a “I don’t want to take 10 seconds to look in the dungeon journal to see tier this time is restricted to helm, chest, shoulders, pants, and gloves, so I should probably avoid making my legendary in those slots.” issue.

Also, I quite literally just bought Maizou 3 291 legendaries for less than 100k. As many of us have said before - if your server prices are ridiculous, that’s because usually a single person controls your economy, and that’s something Blizzard needs to address, however, it’s also your choice to play on a presumably dead realm.

Almost every guide I’ve seen suggests crafting Unity as a Necklace, as it gets a free gem slot upgrade, and the neck choices are rather limited, so you can guarantee your best stats in that slot.

Resto druids are Unity as Legs, Crafted as Feet as far as BIS is concerned. Rings and Necklaces arent bad ideas though

I don’t play Resto, so I wouldn’t know haha.

I despise targeting circles with a passion. Efflorescence alone keeps me from Resto Druid. They really need to add an @target condition to macros.

So many reasons this game is not new player friendly and your post is full of them

Players are punished for picking the wrong covenant the wrong legendary etc by having to grind/ wow token to get the correct stuff after finding the third party website what works for them

The game does a horrible job of providing information on these systems

I hope this attitude of “blame the player” is not what the CC is about

Especially when a lot of these dead realms are literally labeled by blizzard to be new player friendly LMAO

My understanding is that neck is very good unless you plan to kill M Jailor.

Helm chest and legs.

Here is the full table:

Armor Slot Multiplier Fraction
Chest 1.00 16/16
Legs 1.00 16/16
Head 1.00 16/16
Shoulders 0.75 12/16
Feet 0.75 12/16
Hands 0.75 12/16
Waist 0.75 12/16
Wrist 0.5625 9/16
Back (Cloth) 0.5625 9/16

You can play it safe and have “bad legendaries” Or spend the extra gold.

Either way it’s a bad system.

This is exactly the high level discussion I am looking for thank you bailbean

I really appreciate your insight

New players arent min maxing and if you are when you’re not playing at the max level you dont need to min max lmao

There is no “wrong covenent” there is what does the most dps or what you personally find fun.

If you don’t need the most dps, you can play whats fun. Hopefully the two align anyway but if not you can at least target one.

Unless you are pushing for Cutting Edge, you do not need to be min/maxed.

There is absolutely a wrong covenant that puts you at a large disadvantage to people who pick the right one.

Pvp/raiding/m+

All have different meta builds where covenant matters a ton and it will matter even more so after double leggo

Are we playing the same game??

Blizzard always does this, look at mythic plus trinkets, half are useless some are ok and then a few are the bis.

If it wasn’t set up like this you would not play as much so they extend your play time with these silly systems

So you are picking the covenant that gives max dps.

Imagine that - different goals require different things.

If you want to max dps, get covenant A. If you wanna have fun with the convent you want pick B.

If blizzard was more focused on education instead of punishing us for early choices we would know that 95% of players with X SPEC use Y Covenant without having to use a third party website

I prefer Night Fey. I like the ability and the gear and the asthetic. If it was trash, I would still probably pick it because I don’t NEED to do the absolute max.

If Maldraxus was the best for resto druids, and I wanted to push high end keys, then I would do so.

There’s no way to find out in game which is best for mythic plus, and it’s very late into shadowlands

You have to go to subcreation or another site

If you already grinded the wrong covenant god forbid the wrong legendary and then you go to do dungeons and find out you are last on dps. Or join a rated battleground and get destroyed.

All the choices you made up to that point have to be changed if you want to enjoy the game.

Blizzard won’t fix this silly design though because it means people will play more, but I see a lot of frustration with these systems every day

Renown 40 is literally the bare minimum btw

You get the powers while leveling through 50-60 same as everyone else. Pick which feels best.

It gets worse too if you start thinking about what tier pieces have what secondaries.

E.g. For frost mage gloves give big mastery little vers. Mastery isn’t good for mage. So gloves might be the way to go for a legendary because you can pick the stats. Even though you’d get more int from helm for example.

No one needs to be min/max’d but it sure as heck helps a lot.

I really hope the creation catalyst actually lets you pick the stats because optimizing in wow is a mess and I see a lot of the community thinks you have to want CE to have your character perform well
