why no, say you pvp’d or raided in 9.0, would you wanna grind 50 ilvls to just to get back on par with everyone? or renown?
I think 9.2 is a sign from the developers are somewhat starting to listen to The Players. Before this they have been extremely hard headed and we have felt ignored
I agree with you that it’s not going to bring people back in huge numbers but it is a glimmer of hope and a start in the right direction. 10.0 will probably make or break the future for this game
For me I quit at end of 9.1.5
Won’t be coming back till the fix class and spec balance.
Hunters 20% behind the front of the pack for the whole of 9.0-9.1.5 was enough for me
Good news, everybody!
You can now play Lost Ark, and only Lost Ark, for 18 whole years, or more! 24x7x365! Or even 366 once every 4 years!
And you can… you can… keep your WoW subscription all the time, just to harp on WoW forum on how Lost Ark is great and perfect, and WoW sucks! Troll the trolls!
Do Lost Ark the whole WoW treatment!
And then repeat that “has a stranglehold” ditty.
Amen 10.0 will be my last call if its poop in the pants
Financially, no. I agree on that.
In terms of users, however, WoW is very likely at its lowest point ever. Even given the proliferation of other games as competition, I think a lot of that blame can be laid at SL’s feet. It’s just not a good expansion.
Bfa was great
Who would bother coming back for another rushed patch of meh content?
9.2 is just more of the same. Nothing big, or revolutionary to wow people into coming back, which would be fine if the expansion was in a decent shape.
Instead we have delayed, content-dry patch after delayed, content-dry patch, and 9.2 isn’t going to be any better, especially if it lasts a year or more, which at this rate, is probably the case.
I don’t think it’s going to be a failure by any means since it’s an established game, but it’s also obvious these people constantly bringing it up here have their blinders on. Like, it’s only Day 6 now for it’s western release, and only the beginning of Day 3 for free to play players. Like yeah, people who put that much cash just to get early access to a game are going to still be playing it, and every streamer/content creator I’ve seen talking about the game has expressed that they ALL expect to hit a wall with the game at some point because the endgame is not only grindy, but you are at risk of losing the items you are grinding for at end game.
If someone enjoys the game, that’s fine, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying other games. They don’t need to be so insecure about liking another game though that they gotta go around convincing everyone that it’s the savior of the genre, because that it definitely isn’t.
Yep. Looking forward to that
I hope so haha
Jesus Christ mate didn’t have to go this hard.
I quit last February 2021. I just resubbed last week. I already regret it. Korthia mobs are too aggressive. 204 ilvl. If they think I should grind there and lfr just to get into group content they are nuts. M0 isn’t even an option for me by community road blocking standards. Sucks.
Truth is it feels more punishing this time around. Grind may not be worse time-investment wise, and each system in itself isn’t too bad, but they way they are layered feels more chore like.
I’ve played the way you describe here for the last 2 expansions, this time though it’s just not as fun. Whatever is different feels worse for folks that play that way.
More and more I feel the need to stick to one character, but I burn out quickly doing that. I like the variety of multiple play styles/classes.
Not saying anyone is right or wrong, just that it feels like the way I played the last 2xpacs isn’t as viable this time around.
I think that’s the missing narrative. We’re not on Azeroth, and the Horde & Alliance are nowhere to be seen. We’ve never been in that situation before. All the pillars of the game are missing.
I don’t think it is that much of an ask to say I don’t want to do chores on alts and simply want to play the game. Stuff like the account wide memory from ZM is a step in the right direction to enabling that.
That’s part of it. The rate anima is earned is another. It’s a slow tickle of the main currency needed to do any of the casual contents. It’s all locked behind just grinding WQs for 35 when you need hundreds of thousands.
And if you want to complete all 4 covenants you have to grind that 4x
9.0 was very good tho lol. 9.1 was a major disappointment
Played daily from when I started in Legion until last summer. 9.1.5/Mage Tower did not bring me back. 9.2 doesn’t have any content that appeals to me, so it’s unlikely it will bring me back either.
10.0 better show some gigantic shifts in game and systems designs, as far as I’m concerned.
Same devs still working on the same systems of which are inferior versions of whenever they were initially introduced, so yeah I don’t have much hope for 10.0 either. They clearly haven’t learned their lesson given many of the requested changes for 9.2 including have to REUNLOCK flying we already had to earn to unlock and were unable to fly in zones that came with the expansion… Even unlocking flying didn’t feel very rewarding this time around and they want us to grind to unlock it… again! Nah.
