I said in my post that this is from my own personal experience. I don’t feel it necessary to say that I don’t speak for all mythic raiders, obviously I’m only one person. But geez if mythic raiders ain’t some of the most negative people I’ve personally met in game. They have that “I’m here because I have to be, not because I want to be” attitude that you’d normally see in your coworkers on a Monday morning, especially halfway through prog when they’re burnt out but can’t drop.
I’ve no doubt there are raiders who enjoy what they do and maybe even don’t mind the grind. I’m just speaking from my own experience.
M+ is not really required but the nature of the game is… M+ is the easiest way to get gear for raiding.
And Delves is the easiest way to ger gear for Mythic +. It makes Delves like a requirement if you want to get ahead very early for M+.
So Raiders and M+ players, they are pressured to do both M+ and Delves… if they want to become competitive or best of the best.
If you are on a very competitive guild, you would be pressured. My recommendation to you is you seek for a chill raidng group. Find a raiding guild with no Sweatlords as requirement. GG.
All of my AOTC guilds required myth level gear from M+ vault. Can’t get Myth gear from Heroic raids, so if you didn’t do M+, you would be significantly behind the guild. When we hit a wall, people not in Myth gear were the ones targeted and told to pull their weight by doing M+. Sometimes they would even cancel raid night and forcing us into groups to do a few.
Skill to get Myth gear from M+ didn’t seem to line up with raid skill for equivalent gear. My guild struggled to even get a couple of Mythic raid bosses dead but easily did M+ and were decked out in mostly Myth gear by end of Raid.
I can understand M+ for Mythic raiding as a parallel gear pathway but the attitude of getting the best gear and even outgearing content trickles down to lower difficulty levels. It was not fun so I’m not doing raiding/M+ anymore.
It’s a superiority thing. The Royal Knights from our own realm are an exception to this, as they’ve always been very polite and helpful when asked questions, but generally, mythic raiders I’ve interacted with are the “holier-than-thou” type.
Like, no lifing a raid like you’re being paid to do so doesn’t get my respect; but your words and actions absolutely impact it.

Yeah, there are trash guilds that don’t raid mythic as well. If your raid group is going through your equipped gear to determine whether you are holding back the team instead of checking your actual raid performance, you’re in one of them.

If you chose to do Mythic Raiding, you chose to do all the persnickity things Mythic Raiding requires.
Why should some other part of the game conform to Mythic Raiding?
Everyone who enjoys M+ now has to be screwed over because a few who chose to do Mythic Raids are upset they “have to” do M+?
How about this instead, because M+ players don’t want to do Mythic Raids, lets remove gear from mythic raid and have just increase your ilvl instead.
Oh, don’t like it when the shoe is on the other foot?

Ick. Sounds like a trash guild then.
It tends to mostly be a player problem, like, the kind of people that make prog a drag on the morale (regardless if they were the one slow to memorize the fight or not) are the same kind of people that flame of BG chat, insult or try and vote kick strangers, send hateful whispers after PvP happened, or try and spread rumors about people they don’t like in the community.
I mean, from my experience I have been in some bad guilds but trust that it isn’t a universal constant. For me, getting CE in S1 and S2 for my first expansion raiding with the same guild for a whole season required no more time and effort than it took to get late AotCs in an average, smaller guild.
No sympathy at all. If you are going the mythic raiding route, you have to do everything. On a side note, I had a guy offer me 200k for a trinket I won in the LFR yesterday.
Could have been, they were my only experience with mythic raid after all, so I have nothing else to compare it to. I just really couldn’t do it anymore, the treating it like some dreadful day job they have to clock in for. This is a game intended to be fun, lol
I mean of course downing bosses was hype but it felt like that was the only exciting thing about the whole experience.
Ladies and gentlemen grab your sticks and start shaking them at the sky
That can’t be right. Who’d want to play that way for AOTC?

Not really. You can farm M0s in trash gear and skip the delve slog altogether. Delves are intended for people who don’t want to raid or do M+ and is entirely skippable. Only that stupid BiS delve belt made people go into them.
If you’re looking to raid mythic and aren’t doing M+ you’re legit letting your whole raid down
That also can go even into heroic if everyone else is doing it and you’re not, like don’t be that guy putting in half the effort and expecting the same reward
If I joined a raid guild for the purpose of raiding, and cleared my schedule to run the raid, and then they cancelled to tell us to run M+ in smaller groups I’d be gone so fast it wouldn’t even be funny.

We’ve done it before but only on seldom occasions we’ve flat out hit a wall and it made more sense to do it to get gear to come back next week
I’m with you there. About half of our raid team does the dungeon stuff on Saturdays and they really enjoy it. And about half of our team doesn’t do that at all. I don’t, I’ve never been on the Dawnbreaker even with quests to go there.
As I said: Join a normal guild which doesn’t demand you do specific chores that have little if anything to do with the content you sign up for.

I hated it. I wanted to be in Heroic gear for Heroic Raids. That made sense to me. Out gearing content to make it trivial instead of using skill was horrible. Had the same attitude in every guild I had been in since Legion. Must do M+ and get faster or better gear than Heroic raids. It almost felt standard for AOTC guilds in my corner of wow.

But arguably, Delves tier 11 is way easier than M0. Easy to get Gilded Crests. You would have enough for the Crafted gear and you would have more before you reach M+7. Definitely, Delves tier 11 is so easy versus M+7.
If you are smart, Delves would make you ahead in gear very early.
Once you reach to start farming M+7, only then you could stop farming Delves. But Delves is okay to grind if you have a wish to kill its Nemesis Boss in the future.
Also, showing the Mount you get from killing Ky’veza??, it shows prestige for you. People would know that this guy is a tough guy… not a carebear.
All of this was way worse in Legion with Titanforging. You would be overgeared for the Heroic raid before it even came out. I remember when Nighthold came out, I had so much gear I would just face tank every single mechanic and AMS everything, some of the bosses I could 1 tank, especially that Skorpion boss.
I think Legion flew too close to the sun and that’s why we have all this restriction crap and are paying for the sins of Legion being too good.
Bro I remember launch of Legion, Demon Hunters were killing me in the open world just by Throwing Glaive toss at me. I played BDK and this was when I still had Warmode on. I decided to run from this DH this time and he literally killed me with Glaive Toss, they were so over powered at launch it’s not even funny.
