Doesn't New Sylvanas invalidate a core Forsaken theme?

I don’t think that story beat is as compelling as the previous iteration of her lore and I think this is a pretty poor way to handle her “redemption”

Previous to all of this being “revealed” she was a tortured soul that was twisted by that torture only to stand up against the one who tortured her - she then flung herself from ICC only to find that a hellish existence awaited her. After which a new obsession with never having to face that hell again arose.

It made sense before her downward spiral really kicked in, which was presumably part of preparation for all of this.

And then imagine that older iteration having to come to terms with what she’d become (Teldrassil nonsense not-withstanding as that was part of the new Jailer lore). Not what the other version of her had become.

I guess we’ll see where they take it, but my hopes currently aren’t high as the “bad” Sylvanas seems to be getting positioned as a scapegoat - which I imagine is largely thanks to the degradation of her character (through stuff like Teldrassil) which in turn makes “redeeming” her difficult without some sort of scapegoat.

Just doesn’t feel very satisfying at all for anybody familiar with the lore of Sylvanas.
