Does phase 2 feel off?

There are some limitations, but they’re not nearly as intrusive. Just things like a 300,000 gil limit (which has basically no value beyond cosmetics and catch up crafted gear) and not being able to create parties, but you can still be invited to them or join them through the duty finder

For all intents and purpose, the game itself is just straight up free through the base and first two expansions

Honestly it’s pretty good, but I think a lot of people’s experience was soured by Dragon Soul and due to its length kind of tainted the entire expansion. Everything before then was really fun, and even the Dragon Soul dungeons were ok at least

I have come to realize the forum is generally used by pvp players and they are constantly complaining about something.

The game is based on the classic talent trees, so it’s basically classic.

Sorry you have to go places to get your runes. Sorry you’re unhappy with your absolutely free content for this version of the game.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head. The changes they announced were actually all very great decisions (IMO) that might motivate me to start working on my alts again. Eventually.

What do people not like about cata? From my understanding it’s essentially wrath+

For me, like most people who play games like this, leveling isn’t the fun part. The fun part is the content you can do once you’ve hit the max level. And the classic wow leveling experience has never really been a rewarding one. The reason P2 feels worse is because the time to go from 25 to 40 is about the same amount of time to level 3 characters to 25. You also have to travel substantially further, a large percentage of your leveling time is traveling from one hub to another to do a few quests and do it again. That or sit and mindlessly grind SM until you’re instance locked.

Well they killed the best pug raid format and are wondering why their game is dying.

I listed as a con because there isn’t enough content for it to be a PvE focused experience. I’ve come to realize the forum is generally used by players that don’t know how to read.

Phase in my opinion lacking a lot of content. I think phases going forward should include at least two raids or a raid with maybe a new dungeon (heroic type of dungeon or something with a day lockout). Gnomer is cool but really not enough to justify the phase. I also think a lot of the complaining stems from the lack on content.

my biggest problem with gnomer is that the HP of trash is just way higher than it should be. the non-elites feel like they have more hp than most elites do in the world

GDKP is by far not the ‘best pug format’. I am glad it is gone.

It is though.

heavily disagree

just because you like getting gold from gold buyers does not make it a good format.

It is a good format though.

I’m having a blast, feels great.

I think the main thing I noticed was that runes in p1 were much more surprising and a random fun discovery as you were leveling. The p2 runes felt MUCH more monotonous to acquire, and there was no uniqueness to them. Hunters had a cool pet taming on critters rune that worked well with them. Phase 2 everyone is just chasing horsemen around the map

I really enjoyed phase 1 but was ready to move on by the last few weeks. sadly, only a month in and I can’t wait to move on to 50. This phase has been a bust so far for me. By time I grinded 3 characters to 40 i was so burnt out and find it impossible to get into a decent gnomer group except when I’m on priest healing. I have 2 other 25s left to level but cant bring myself to do it even with the exp buff coming. went back to Era and WOTLK last week and have been having fun. Planning on leveling my characters and not really playing much until the final phase at 60.

dungeon spam leveling sucked.

Yup. Phase 1 was a blast questing. Phase 2 = living in SM. That said I enjoy this phase so it if what it is.

No one made you dungeon spam to level.

But since people are apparently incapable of not min/maxing just to get to the new max level as quickly as possible to then complain ‘there’s nothing to do’…Blizz can nerf dungeon exp.

Sure they did. I had to degen somewhat to make it in for the first lockout.
