Does orc death knight make sense?

There are 3 generations of dks:

First were the souls of guldans necrolytes that were put into dead human knight bodies.(Teron gorefiend)

Second was Lorderon paladins who were cast into northrend to try to find the source of the plague, they were corrupted into death knights (Arthas)

Third is the Ebon Blade, dead soldiers from horde and alliance that broke free from the Lich kings control in wrath (You)

Orcs and humans have the most backstory, but any playable race makes sense from a lore perspective through the ebon blade.

We might be getting a 4th generation in 8.3 depending on how they explain it.

So yes orc dks make sense, orcs created death knights, nerzhul the lich king is an orc

We make sense, yes.

The original Orc Death Knights were a different breed with different magics than the Scourge brand we are today.

But we make sense as the current iteration of Death Knights too.

The Scourge wanted powerful warriors to raise into undeath and imbue with necromantic energies to turn them into Death Knights. It wasn’t just fallen Paladin’s they raised. They raised members of every race on Azeroth. And as Orcs, we already had plenty of powerful warriors as base stock.

Since the Scouge raised us and we broke free of the Lich King, plenty of famous Death Knights of the Ebon Blade have been Orcs.

We’re an integral part of the Death Knight order.

Yeah I guess technically I should have said orcs + humans were the first generation :stuck_out_tongue:

This confirms that Orcs are nothing more than a parasite.

Technically it is a bit more complicated than that… the first generation of Death Knights were Orc souls stuffed into reanimated Human corpses… so aesthetically by lore Humans actually make the most sense…

Not really. They were Orc souls possessing reanimated human bodies. They didn’t look like Orcs.

I think Human DKs for Alliance. Blood Elf or Undead for Horde. Quel’thalas was taken over by scourge so it makes sense for BElves.

Orcs were the brains, humans were the vessels. I don’t give much credit to meat and bones.

Teron Gorefiend was an orc.

Technically the first deathknights ever made were orcs, back in warcraft 2

They don’t, I do. However, with an U with a special character (And being a mage) :stuck_out_tongue:

The first Death Knights were Orc Warlocks who transferred their souls into Human Knights, so absolutely.

Also Orcs seem to resonate really well with Death Knight magics, look at Saurfang and Nazgrim. Nazgrim at least is having a blast.

Orcs fought the Scourge at Hyjal during the Third War.

Additionally Orcs fought in EPL along side the Argent Dawn during Vanilla and fought against the first two Scourge Invasions.

There are four generations of Death Knights currently in the lore. Orcs fall into the category of 1,3 and 4.

Generation 1 were Orc Warlock souls fused with Stormwind Knight’s bodies. Gul’Dan created these. Teron Gorefiend was the first.

Generation 2 was Arthas’ generation. This is the group of Death Knights that Arthas raised while he was in power before his hibernation. This includes Falric and Marwyn. (Arthas captains. They’re the ones seen escorting him back home in the King Terenas death cinematic.) Arthas was the first, and he was created by Ner’Zhul.

Generation 3 are the Death Knights of the Ebon Blade. This is you. You are a generation 3 Death Knight. Darion Mograine was the first. All of these Death Knights were raised by the Arch-Lich’s. Either Kel’Thuzad, or Amal’Thazad. (The latter creating you.)

Generation 4 Death Knights are any that were created AFTER the fall of Arthas as the Lich King. Any that serve Darion, the Deathlord (you) or Bolvar. These Death Knights are raised by either Amal’Thazad, or the Deathlord. (The only ones raised by you are the Four Horseman. Every other Death Knight was raised by Amal’Thazad.)

Arthas; to my knowledge; did not raise any Orcs into his ranks between the time of becoming a Death Knight himself, and becoming the Lich King. Therefore, I don’t believe there are any Generation 2 Orc Death Knights. Only Humans and Dwarves.

Have there ever been stronger words of truth spoken on these forums?

The first Deathknights were Orcs, all Deathknights were Orcs until Warcraft 3. Orc DKs are a mainstay or the Original Orc Army list. So yes, they fit lore.
