Does kinda suck about the housing news

I’m not angry lol, I’m just saying there’s no point. And you’re right the world doesn’t revolve around me, but it also doesn’t revolve around the people who want player housing and better gear than people who do PVP and PVE.

What a lot of people forget is WoW is literally on the Warcraft 3 engine. An RTS engine from the early 2000’s.

First of all really? Using Goldshire against us when you know 100% that not all RPers are like that.

Second, we don’t want randomly plotted houses dotted through the land, a simple instanced thing would suffice. We’re not asking for full on houses in the middle of the land because we are smart enough to know that it wouldn’t work in WoW.

what interview???

and if they just confirmed no player housing then I’m done and yes, you can have my gold.

What? You really thought I was going there? I was just saying use Goldshire as a home lol.

Someone have a link to this interview?

I’m on Moon Guard, that isn’t a good idea…

Yup. I feel like a garrison house phase is perfect and they’ve done it. They could even use an existing house in Stormwind to be the phase. That way people are still around the capital city!

WAHHHH, I DONT PLAY LIKE THIS SO IT MAKES NO SENSE WHY ANYONE ELSE DOES!! WAHHHH

Your argument is nonsensical. Player housing is a PILLAR of MMORPG’s since the days of UO. There is zero excuse why Blizzard can’t make it happen. Nearly every major MMORPG on the market has it EXCEPT WoW. Zero excuse.

Yes, but where are those MMOS now?

Star Wars Galaxies was amazing in this regard.

Not only could you have player housing, you could make player run cities!

We had a guild hall filled with NPC vendors, and people would travel there to shop!

It was amazing. I miss that game so much.

Some people think their opinion is all that matters.

If they don’t want it, it shouldn’t exist for anyone.

Just laugh at them, and move on.

are you kidding me? lol…

FFXIV - alive and doing well, they even added a whole island dedicated to this type of gameplay

ESO - alive and doing well

Runescape - alive and doing well

SWTOR - alive and getting better

Lost Ark - alive and doing well

THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON… all of these have player housing, zero excuse why blizz can’t do it and I don’t buy the engine limitation bit for one second.

Yes, but that’s FFXIV.

Alive and doing well? I haven’t heard that name in years.

Haven’t heard or seen this game talked about

It’s doing ok.

Half of these games are dead.

LOL. bye.

What a load of BS. How’d they pull off Garrisons with the game engine they had

Bro, lol you cannot be serious…

Runescape’s average players are 3k lol.
Lost Ark’s is about 100k
Eso is 12k

and nothing significant will change. microsoft isn’t this magic white knight on a shining horse you think its going to be.

just because you haven’t heard or seen those mmos talked about doesn’t mean they don’t exist or aren’t running. you world doesn’t revolve around you.

How is me saying the games are dead saying the world revolves around me? I never said they weren’t running, I’m just saying they’re dead. They’re only running because people want to relive their nostalgia. Just because I am stating my opinion on how player housing shouldn’t be a thing isn’t me saying I own world of warcraft, if I said the same thing to you, I’d be called an elitist or a troll lol.

I mean honestly, the only group of people that want housing are the people that don’t have enough time on their hands or content is too hard for them. Which there’s nothing wrong with, but we shouldn’t have to reshape World of Warcraft to fit them. Like I stated before, WOW will be turned into one of those weird facebook games where you have shop options to buy furniture for your house. But god forbid you say something bad about player housing and suddenly, all your opinions are invalidated and you’re called a troll.

garrisons honestly wasn’t the ‘worst’ thing ever, I still enjoy going back and tooling around my garrison from time to time… the REAL problem, is that its so closely tied to the content of that specific expansion, and as a result there is no reason (or incentive) to carry it forward and iterate on it in future expansions.

even having something based on the garrison code, like a large house in one of the capital cities, with a selection of hardpoints (like the garrison building locations) where we could choose what sort of ‘addons’ we slotted in there would be something.

think a large mansion, with say 4 or 5 different ‘halls’ in it. and we could select from say… 10 different versions of ‘rooms’ that we want to fill up those halls. it wouldn’t be the kind of ‘furnish it how we like’ vision that players really want. but it would be something at least, and could be based on existing code… then they could add or expand the number of different rooms over time to make it more customizable…

but that would also involve blizz actually iterating on previous expansions content, and we know how often they actually end up doing that.

old news, sorry you’re only just hearing about it.
