I got 3 items from the shadowlands campaign that made 3 of my champions level 38 but all my others have been level ~12 for weeks and weeks. This is the command table minigame btw. Is there a trick I’m missing?
it takes several months, that’s normal.
nope just send them out and use the 2 free tokens
or get the tokens from the vendor for a hefty price
If you’re only planning on only levelling one covenants champs on that character… there is a little trick you can do.
Go to Oribos and join a covenant… Use a token to get you to renown 60 which will grant you a bunch of goodies.
Switch to each covenant and repeat…
You will have 4x of those champ xp tokens along with some set mogs and mounts if you don’t have them already.
Tip: Max one champ first before adding more. Your troops will be at that level straight away overlevelling the missions allowing you to cheese every mission for a long time.
Tip 2: Ardenweald table is by far the most efficient due to its OP troops.
This is the hot tip, and it’s important to actually look up a guide on how to do this right. You don’t want more than the 3 original followers, and using the XP tokens you’ll get them to 60. When they’re 60, the troops are 60, and it will help with the missions.
And, yes, it take absolutely forever to level the followers. I wish I knew when, but there is a point when they peak, and it’s not 60. 60 is just, well, 60. There’s no real need for them all to be 60.
That said, I have 3 covenants with them all at 60, and the 4th they’re all close (all over 50). Were I to prosecute this (I dabble), with 4 toons running XP missions (the XP tokens are BOA), and funneling them all to my final toon, it would still take weeks to get them to 60.
And, of course, you need anima to feed the mission table.
Leveling all the followers is a long haul, to be sure.
So basically by playing the game without looking at a guide first and exploiting the same level trick I’ve screwed myself for months. Great game design there blizzard :S
“I missed an opportunity to exploit unintended mechanics and it’s your fault blizz.”
That’s like complaining that the designers purposely put a bug into the game.
On a side note, there are a pair of global heroes that are available at all four tables and maintain their levels when you swap covenants. Croman and meatball both from torghast.
I wouldn’t say that, especially today since the value of the mission table is overall pretty low now. The simple case is that the mission table is meant to be a casual side game within the larger game, and it actually takes quite a bit to feed and level and run. Farming anima, finding the followers, leveling them up. And it’s not clear to me how rewarding all of that is now. I’m sure there might be a pet or mount buried in there somewhere, but mostly it was gear and mats. It used to produce “ok” amounts of gold as well, but that’s long dead.
So, while the bonus troops are nice, I don’t think they’re required simply because I don’t think the mission table has a lot of value any more, so what difference does it make?
