I wish the zone chats were more active. Even the current zones feel like ghost towns because nobody hardly chats.
Most people have too much of an ego to have an intelligent conversation. People die on a hill of their own vanity; the idea that their worldview is so utterly perfect that there can be no flaw in the line of their thinking.
People also sneer when a concept is obvious to themselves, but not to someone else.

I don’t think… I’ve ever seen one at least on the horde side for trade chat. Alliance side depending on server sometimes it happens, but again trade chat is… mostly clogged with advertisements for other things and everythin else.

I was seeing well reasoned and well argued political chat in Trade the other day. I was very surprised. Everyone involved acted like they were debate champs.

I did not see that until mid-wotlk. Don’t believe I ever saw it in TBC, and I was on…5(?) different servers during that period. In Wotlk it was non-stop until blizz finally did something about it. Corpses on the ground as well as corpses in mid-air, motionless, either “dead” or standing so the letters would have a 3D effect. Was pretty impressive when I first saw it, ngl.
People who wanted intelligent or civilized conversation in game, do it by other mediums that may not have been available back in the day. The ones who didn’t are in Trade chat.
