I think flying is great for people who do mining and such. Getting to nodes is so much easier with flight.
But when I’m questing I’m fine with normal ground mounts. They go fast and can get you from point A to B in a timely fashion. And usually questing requires a guy to be fighting mobs and such anyway.
Unless you’re in some mountain region…flying always is superior then.
