How many of you believe that the game will change next expansion? And when I say change, I mean a totally different design philosophy, them actually making huge changes during beta testing and not waiting over a year to implement things that should be there at launch.
Not making giant RNG systems and grinds that are mandatory and extremely alt unfriendly and much more. An expansion that will make us question if it’s even WoW, in a good way because of how much they changed their philosophy.
The whole scandal at blizzard has really shaken things up and I’m just curious if you guys think all of this will have an effect for next expansion or will they just fall back to their typical ways.

If they dont address the faction imbalance, IE cross faction raiding/pvp I dont see the game lasting another expansion.
Best case every single player goes horde and we have the same results as cross faction minus the fantasy diversity of the ally races.

I too heard this statement in Cataclysm
and MoP
and WoD
and BfA
your statement won’t be any different

No they will do what will make money and keep people subbed running around in circles. I’m sure they sit around a table deciding which is best to drag this game out.

In short, no.
I don’t see the sea-change in the game everyone else sees.
What I mean by that is if you view the past expansions (most recently BFA) by comparison, the timelines and type of content released are similar. Some folks hailed it as a game changer and they were listening!! …but no, it was planned and released as such (Torghast changes, Korthia, etc…).
They might have hastened some cosmetics and fruit changes for lawsuit optics, but none of that was for us. If it was for the folks working on the game, good for them, hope it makes going to work better.
This is my guess as I don’t know the true inner workings.
nope
nope
nope
nope
if any change happens, it will be small.

The ball is in thier court. It’s going to be up to them. 9.1.5 I think was a huge wake up call for them.
Now if they do anything remains to be seen.
I don’t think we will see any change in game development philosophy. I think they’re still convinced that player rejection of what they see as the most perfectly designed MMORPG that has ever existed is a failure on the part of players, who, with enough trolling posts by pro-blizz trolls, will realize the error of their ways and come back by the tens of millions, credit cards in hand, begging Mike to let them pay for a carry.

I don’t think it will get better. The philosophy of the whole company - monetization before quality and better quantity in the game - is not going to change and key figures like Danuser and Watcher have shown over the last months that they can’t really change. They still defend certain design choices in SL or celebrate themselves for the story.
Even how they were handling the Mage Tower is the prime example in my opinion, why they haven’t change and will never change.
The only reason we got 9.1.5 was the huge wave of bad news. Nobody can convince me that this wasn’t the case.

Nah if anything they’re going to use the next one to milk whales as hard as possible. I haven’t seen a single thing indicating otherwise. Then it might just go ‘f2p’ or have an epiphany and actually making some change but it won’t be for the last patch.
The really hard pill to swallow is we’d need to merge the painfully unbalanced / dead ones. Otherwise they’re just going to remain exactly as they are.

Look at this quarter where they didn’t have ANY content or releases. This should’ve hit them hard financially and they would’ve deserved it to have a negative Earning’s Call next year for that. Instead they immediately doubled down on shop content to boost their numbers and can proudly show the investors how great their game is doing, while so many players are unsatisfied, again in a content drought and the brand and the company is seriously damaged.

Not much. They have shown their true face again with the undocumented mage tower buffs shortly before it left the PTR. They don’t care about you or me, they look simply at numbers and call it a day.
Don’t expect changes.

Simple answer : NO, nothing will change as far as RNG. blizz will never take this away, or shall i say make it in our favor. It did not take me long at all to finally discover what ‘’ time is money friend ‘’ . if you don’t get it by now ?, you never will…lol.

With how stuff has been “handled” lately, no. God no.
After that horrific accident that is Draenor and then later worsened with BFA, it’s hard to have any hope left for anything that could of been decent.
The motto of the Notre Dame football team is… Play like a Champion today. At blizzards its… The Customer is always wrong!

Stolen from Oklahoma. I suppose the analogy is apt, since Blizzard has very few original ideas of its own.

It should, but it won’t.
Same same, but different, but STILL same.
I am doubtful - can people actually change how they think and what they consider fun?
