Does anyone miss Artifact Weapons?

Yeah, I actually miss them - the looks, the stories, it was interesting and fun to get them.

Don’t care for the AP system though. Not a very interesting or motivating “reward.” :stuck_out_tongue:
Yipee! I got a number with nothing attached to it I can see lol.

That one thing is still thankfully available, except for casters with wands…poor things.

No a barn fire is too dignified.

AP should die in a dumpster fire filled with Uranium-238.

Yes even though I have my good boy Hati back I miss my artifact a lot with it I never had to worry about finding some so called worthless weapon to drop.

We should have got all new artifacts and artifact traits for this expansion and every expansion going forward. It’s telling that I still use the artifacts for my mogs, nothing else really compares.

I always hated the idea, personally. I also wasn’t a fan of most of the weapons aesthetically, though I typically don’t care for a lot of weapon and armor designs in this game.

I did like some of the smaller quirks that came with them, though; like Aluneth siphoning from magic sources in the world or people splooshing all over Felo’melorn.

I miss Aluneth. (I mained and Arcane Mage for a good while) It was awesome to suck power from the open world and it would tell me to throw Dalaran into the sea. We had fun.

I wouldn’t say i miss them but I definitely prefered they worked mechanically compared to azerite armor. However I definitely don’t miss being locked into one weapon type for tmog

End game progression was what the game needed, it’s just been done in a terrible way.

I loved the Artifact weapons through and through. Did not miss weapon drops, and actually found the relic system really fun.

AP grind was horrible at first, but that was fixed later on.

All of the transmog hunting on alts was one of my favorite parts of Legion. Wish there was something similar to do now. Replacing an AMAZING lore weapon with a neck was disappointing.

I definitely do. I honestly hope that since we’re holding the artifacts still, that post BFA we can use the Azerite to “revive” these artifacts. It’d be even cooler if Blizzard did a Secret of Mana / Master Sword - Calamity Ganon reference. By this I mean have the final raid with N’zoth or whoever result in the heroes using the Heart of Azeroth to restore said artifacts.

-Players are crushed by N’zoth. Magni empowers Ashbringer / other weapons-
-Magical Explosion. Heroes weapons are fully juiced and they go to work. Epic music qued. Bring it on-

Change it so players can use any of the artifacts going forward irrespective of spec, and when they are reborn they gain a single new trait. When I say a new trait, I mean something that makes it like “the” weapon you want to use against the final enemy of the expansion.

Azeroth’s Might:
“Deal 300% more damage, heal for 300% more, and take 300% less damage in the presence of N’zoth”

This trait would ‘only’ work on that boss, and Blizzard could then use it to showcase our heroes fighting a fully free, and absurdly powerful Old God at his prime with no Titan handicaps. This idea would also give every player a solid weapon for the finale, and solve the biggest thing people loved about artifacts. That the weapon was a non-issue based in RNG.

Best of all, when it’s time to hang up the Heart of Azeroth; Magni can use it to infuse more power into the Artifact (the expansion’s new talents etc.) which can then serve as a lead-in to the next expansion. As for concerns about the farmability of N’zoth, that boss in the dungeon could later be de-powered with a debuff in the dungeon, or a basic numbers tune to account for the changes.

Of course Xal’atath would need a new spirit in it…

I nominate Sylvanas.

I agree. I’m happy we’re starting to become randos again, but I hope in the future that Artifacts will be an endgame reward (And not one just handed to you)

Artifact weapons were really well designed and had great lore attached to them. Why Blizz tossed all that away instead of building on them and expanding them I will never understand.

“Cool system you designed there, players like it too.”

“86 it. We’re done.”

“What? Why? It’s still good.”

“Naw, everything needs to be built from scratch again.”

“But why? You could just improve things a bit and then -”

“Dump it all. All of it gone.”

“Wow, okay. So what are we getting to replace these epic and legendary weapons everyone has worked so hard to build?”

“A necklace!”

“Um… say what?”

“A magic necklace!”

“…”

I miss them. I really liked the quest chains for acquiring them and not having to worry if my weapon was up to snuff as I leveled.

Really wish we kept them and they incorporated the azerorite system into them.

Personally, I do miss artifact weapons. I don’t know–I really enjoyed them in Legion. Especially working for all those appearances. I know many were like “But we don’t get weapon drops!” but that never bothered me. The traits were fun too, everything was in one place. We could work for some really neat ones, much less boring than the very few we have with Azerite.

But, yeah, that’s just my little spheal. Getting the artifact relics were annoying though, that’s the only annoying thing.

i miss the mini talent trees and the long quest chains not really the weapon itself

Surprisingly yes.

At first I thought it was a terrible idea as getting weapon drops was always the most fun gear to get off bosses. But the way they did it by adding skins and catering looks specifically to classes was actually quite great.

It is basically the main thing that carried me through Legion. I really enjoyed unlocking all the skins for the classes I was playing.

I did not care for Artifact power that much, but found it okay once you could basically max it.

I found in BFA I would get weapon drops and almost all of them look ugly or out of place for my class. So begrudgingly I admit that I would not be against them bringing class specific skins back.

No. I do not miss artifact weapons at all. The current system has issues, but the AP grind for EACH weapon pigeon-holed each of my characters into one spec. Now, I frequently change specs without worry of the lack of power.

That said, some classes really stink because you have to find a weapon for that spec, but definitely better than the legion system.

No I don’t miss them because I can still use them, I’m still having fun unlocking more appereances and I can transmog them into BfA.

Honestly I’m finding Legion content more fun then BfA right now. I keep going back to my class hall to do more stuff. I had more fun then finishing the mage hall campaign on my kul tiran then actually getting to boralus.

I really liked the Artifact Weapons. I actually felt like I was progressing in some way whenever I unlocked a trait. Azerite Gear is just so bland… I just miss Legion in general. I went back to the Broken Isles with my friend to do some transmog runs and we both just sat in the Dreamgrove for a minute just thinking about how much we enjoyed the order halls and everything else about Legion.
