fury and prot still have rend as an additional effect in 12.1 to umm i forget someone posted it higher in the thread i think whirlwind/thunder c lap? not sure

I REALLY like the thought of Thunder Clapping a group of mobs and making their ears bleed as a tank. It’s as violent as it is subtle damage. Gonna miss that if/when it goes Arms

It’s just the specific Rend ability button that will be arms exclusive. Fury and prot will still have their own ways of applying the dot.

• New Talent (Fury): Storm of Blood – Whirlwind applies Rend to all targets. Crashing Thunder causes Storm of Blood to also apply to Thunder Clap for Mountain Thane.
• New Talent (Protection): Blood and Thunder – Thunder Clap applies Rend to all targets.

Given that cleave will also apply it for arms, I don’t know why they don’t just also have mortal strike apply it. Making it a dedicated button is just pointless.

That really just makes the whole change completely pointless then… cause there’s already no reason to use Rend as a single target ability… they may as well just turn Rend into a passive for all three specs that just gets applied by a selection of predetermined skills…
