I will say, I’ve never actually healed a Mythic+ at any significant level, so that’s a perspective I don’t have. I do pay attention to mechanic overlaps simply to direct offheals/poison or disease cleaning and stuff like that. While these things do exist with longer encounters, I can’t think one where around the time of things actually becoming relevant (e.g. +17), people aren’t already experiencing all the overlaps and stuff.
There’s the odds mechanics or so that don’t crop up at +5, and only start showing up at +12 or something, but that’s generally not considered relevant by most of the playerbase. At least, >I< haven’t seen people getting intense about the requirements for Keystone Challenger and its Valor Upgrades or anything like that.
Have you done an 18 tyrannical? A 21 fortified? Have you played at the “tippy top”?
Yes to the first two, no to the last one. I doubt we have anyone here on these forums that does M+ at that level at all tbh.
This is an extremely long and thought out response about mythic + for someone with such little experience. I don’t want to come off as insulting, it’s just hard to have a discussion with someone with such strong opinions and no involvement In the actual content.
I mean, it was a couple of paragraphs, one of which was a tangent. It’s not exactly a blog post, or a thesis.
Also, why do you find it hard to discuss? Either there’s something demonstrably arguable in someone’s opinions or perspective, or there isn’t. Like, it’s one thing if someone’s trolling you and going something like “Yeah, no”, and you have to take a lot of time to counter low-effort trolling, but that’s not it here. Here, you have actual substance where you can either go “I disagree, and here’s my countering perspective”, or something to that effect.
Like, I’ll help you, and take one concrete opinion out of there:
In the ideal world, Tyrannical or Fortified should be the same level of challenge, so it shouldn't matter which one you do for achievement/gear/reward requirements.
We’re not talking “Hey, I’m starting a +X Tyr group, and I want to make sure everyone I invite has done Tyr at this level” or anything like that which could confuse the equation with complexity, it’s a fairly tightly scoped opinion. Do you find something disagreeable in that? If so, what? I would (not being sarcastic) enjoy hearing your opinion on the matter.
How about this one:
Like, if I know how Stradma or Domina work, making me do it for longer isn’t adding anything to my experience. It’s sort of enhanced with the context of A 5-man boss being prolonged isn’t exactly giving me an “endurance test” so much as testing my patience., and I’ve attempted to account for differing opinions/experiences/history colouring my perspective in talking about having done 10-20+ minute raid encounters in my past for hours on end (an actual “endurance test”).
Do you have a differing perspective on that?
