Seems to be just the mage artifact, the floating head from demo warlock and the dagger from shadow priest do talk while mogged.
Aluneth still talks when mogged. It’s just with the woolmancers charge the hidden affect that changes it into a sheep doesn’t proc.
i miss dadghar heads floating around.

I’m just now having trouble regaining this questline on a mage, so I read this thread and commented.
I still use this baby since I got it on the first day mage tower released. Have never unequipped it and for good reason…

I use offhands on my Warlock, even if there is a better staff, solely so that I can have a cool horned skull floating around me.

Dagger-mode Xalatoes is a really ugly girl. The only version I like to use is the PVP purple one and even then the N’zoth dagger looks cleaner.
ofcourse. Sometimes its the best option. Right now on my disc priest I am using Lights Wrath staff, and on Shadow priest I am using the legion dagger that I cant remember the name of, but it whispers a lot.
it is my biggest regret in the game that i dont have a og ashbringer to whisper to me as it happens though the old god goop gorehowl from garrosh still tells me to “shut their eyes forever” when i use it
I have a void elf alt who is a shadow priest that uses Xalatath as her weapon. Yes, I transmog it. Yes, it still speaks to me.
