This is why I have headcanons. My dracthyr is a dragon. “Erm, acktually, dracthyr are not drago-” Yes, I know. But she is a dragon in my head and I’ll keep thinking that so long as it makes me happy. 
The dracthyr lore of them being experiments and not ‘technically’ dragons is just a convoluted way to give us dragons without giving us dragons.
