I’m starting to realize many people are playing with wm off…what do you play with and why briefly?
Off, because I played exclusively on PvP servers from vanilla up until Legion. I’m older now and like to go at my own pace and not have to worry about getting ganked all the time.
That style of play no longer appeals to me.
On. Sometimes i get that hair up my backside. Somwtimes its fun to go “oh, im being attacked”.
On.
Not sure how people can play with it off, world is way too boring, imo.
Off.
I don’t PvP.
I like playing with wamode on as I enjoy a good scrap. I don’t go into the lowbie zone unless I know a friend is there and I wanna mess with him.
On while leveling to 60 (Alliance, 15% XP buff), otherwise off. There’s no money in it.
I permanently turned off wpvp when I got jumped by 60 people when solo in the vale of eternal content. Was wanting to get any excuse to play holy pally to try to get a feel for it (was doing keys/BGs/raids) before trying arena.
Bubble hearthed out while being spit on by like 5-10 people. And promptly never turned it back on.
Probably my punishment for playing prot pally in nazjatar and ruining others lives while looting 25 war chests as an assassin.
Usually off because my play time is limited and those “PvP extensions” suck it.
On when farming sparks or when I get a lot of free time OR to use some PvP skills somewhere where they would make a big difference.
Both. I solo play so I do most content with warmode on, for the added talents.
When I run into an event, I turn off wm to play it. Usually because my realm or whatever is heavily populated by Alliance.
Not too long ago, over 3 dozen alliance players swarmed the air drop to our paltry 4 Horde players lol.
WM Off, because it is infuriating to get killed trying to zone into a mythic plus. Running back, there is the possibility of getting killed an additional 1-2 more times. I’m a PVEer and I have no patience for warmode shenanigans.
I also can’t stand it if someone has WM on and keeps getting killed on their way to the mythic plus dungeon. If you make me wait 5 to 10 minutes for you to get into the dungeon, because you’re getting camped, I’m leaving the pug group.
Off. I played on a few pvp servers with RL friends back in the day and hated it. Literally no one wanted a fair fight, great example the guys who thought they could 2v1 me, then my brother showed up and we killed one of them but they killed both of us. We’re thinking oh now it’s on!
The idiots hearthed. If they couldn’t gank they weren’t interested in even a tiny bit of pushback. And that was the rule not the exception. If I want to pvp I play a pvp game like smite. Pvp in this game is butt.
Spent most of BFA in WM. Loved it then, loved the pvp zones in Legion. I basically have not touched it since.
Off.
I am not a fan of WoW pvp. I generally get my pvp fix in games like Unreal Tournament or OW2, until the messed it up.
Though, I have been dipping a toe back into GW2 pvp.
I was on a PVP server for my entire WoW playing life (from Vanilla). Finally turned it off in Dragonflight. I don’t think I’ll ever go back.
Off. Back in the days when I’d often flag myself, no interesting PvP happened. Players significantly above my level would attack, but run away if confronted with a challenge.
With WM off I can go afk if something comes up, or I’m at work and get calls. When I want PvP, which I enjoy, I queue for it.
Off unless I’m leveling… then it’s on until I get griefed a couple times then I just turn it off. I don’t care about WM on or off, all I care about is:
time spent = maximum chores done
I can’t be a rogue and have warmode off, that’s just wrong.
There is PVP in this game?
Jokes aside, I play with it off. I have zero interest in PVP in this game. Its never been “balanced”, paper-rock-scissors with one faction imbalance after another, and really I have nothing to prove.
I like to enjoy the games that I play. I know that’s kind of annew concept, but being pissed off while playing isn’t fun.
I mean, yeah, if you did it enough, you might’ve had a few people spot you, call for allies to gank you, then get blueballed by you bubbling and hearthing away.
…of course they’re going to be salty about their nemesis getting away scot free.
On topic: I have it off 90% of the time since I’m playing on Wyrmrest Accord. RP server war mode shards are WILDLY imbalanced in alliance’s favor by the mere existence of Moon Guard and its massive and absolutely feral alliance population. About the only time I have it on is when I’m heading out specifically to do the world PvP quests.
(…I can count one nice interaction between me being on a WrA horde character and some MG alliance characters – During week one of DF, late at night, I tanked the Siege on Dragonbane Keep for four alliance characters, who didn’t attack me, even after the Siege ended successfully. …I ended up accidentally getting credit for killing all of them cause my uncontrollable galactic guardian twin moonfires tagged them, and then the boss killed them. Whoops.)
