Originally before dungeon/raid finder were incorporated into World of Warcraft. Everyone played in the open world doing quests. Joined pick-up groups to do dungeons/raids, coming together at meeting stones. But after DF came out, more players were using it to level up faster. Now it seems like most players spend all of their leveling up time in dungeon/raid finder. Once at max level they do M+ dungeons.
So I’m curious to know; has Dungeon/Raid finder replaced open world questing? Like I mean when was the last time you were out in Wow’s open world? Do people even remember Wow has an open world?

Only in Classic! I see a few level 80s in open world, but they are just passing through.
every week for the world boss, multiple times on multiple characters usually… just as one example
Why would I be playing anywhere else?
Open world is where all the content is.
(well, I suppose delves - despite the devs refering to them as open world in early TWW, they aren’t)

I do almost 100% open world content, solo delves, etc.
Not that Blizz considers any of that part of the real point of the game…

Just enough to get whatever weekly award. Other than that it’s pointless, especially with all the caps in place
Only recently did open world in heroic tier remix. The world feels fun when the ‘bosses’ at the end of quest chains are tough enough to require your attention and grasp of your rotation. I really hope the prey system in midnight adds this kind of feeling, what a shame the real game doesn’t have heroic world tier.

My main game is leveling and questing. With at least my main, I’ll do all of the quests in a zone to level, I do all of the quests in every single zone, every single expansion. I understand and accept that people don’t like it, but for me it seems boring to just do dungeons and raids over and over and over and never touch questing in this type of game. I love it though, lots of fun to me, even if some of the quests are goofy,

As someone who has been playing for years and doesn’t touch dungeons or raids to speak of, all my play is open world, plus delves.
I find Blizzard’s “end game” content uninteresting.

I do a lot of open world content. I also queue for dungeons in the dungeon finder when there are satchels up.

Every chance I get. The only time I ever go into a dungeon anymore is if I have a quest that takes me in there. I’m sure some people enjoy grinding dungeons over and over again, which is what makes them enjoy mythic plus so much. However, for me, I would rather be in the open world doing questing and dailies and such.

No.
Earlier today doing the theater event.
There are also useful achievements and features locked behind finishing the campaign storyline. You get a lot of faction rep which has bonuses. World quests are useful for a decent chunk into the expansion. These are beneficial even for dungeon grinders.
Yes.

Come 11.2.7 you’re going to see hundreds of 80s running around old zones whether you like it or not.

Yes? For gold wqs, world bosses, and mining.
I still do that event and still enjoy it. Yes, I have lied to friends that it “drops a mount” to bolster attendance at the show.

You speak a sickening yet accurate truth.
Barely at all. World content is as bland as you can possibly get in WoW. I do the requisite engagement to unlock all of the instanced stuff, since they’ve realized that most people wouldn’t touch world if they didn’t have to.
Then I lobby it up and the open world becomes nothing more than travel time between A and B.
Im in the open world quite often. Im a moderate level mount colllector and that does require me to do stuff out in the open world which I enjoy doing.
Um, yes? Most of the stuff I do is out in the world. I don’t care about, nor do I have the time for the endgame dungeon/raid gear grind any more.
