Do you like Faerin?

I found her plain and boring.

Yes she is handicapped, and disadvantaged, and black, and a woman. So they had to be careful about how she was portrayed. But still, I think they played it too safe.

Now, look what you did
you made the Gnome tear up. :crying_cat_face:

(on a sadly offcolour note, I loved the idea for shop toy, offering a Varian jigsaw puzzle. Oh me so bad
)

Objectively, as a horde player my character would never ever side with Faerin or her people. In fact, I’d actively work against them if I could. It’s odd and lore breaking for my character to be buds with her at all.

As a character for Alliance players she’s fine

Thought this said Frieren. That would have been a yes.

Notice the first word in that link?

King’s

As in King Digital, the mobile game studio. Which is not Blizzard Entertainment.

FYI, Blizzard employees were pissed when Activision executives used their characters from Overwatch to market a tool from King Digital, a tool that Blizzard never used. Especially since all the diverse characters Overwatch had at the time were created before that tool existed.

LOL dude. You have mastered the art of the Sunday thread.

Didn’t you hear? According to Trollbane, Faerin is the future.

That’s the curse suffered by all characters who are created for representation of real life groups of people.

With them it’s no longer “ just a fictional story; resemblance to people living or dead is purely coincidental”. Which really limits what you can do.

I can pretty safely assume certain qualities about you based on your reaction to Lux saying she likes hot girls in hot outfits. (Which totally is a preference)

tbf, she DID say that she felt more at home in Hammerfall with the Orcs than in Stromgarde with the Humans soooooo

I’m not sure how I feel about that line, tbh. But I don’t wanna turn it into a thinkpiece.

I would actively work against the horde itself if I could choose a more evil faction too so maybe it’s just me lol

With the stilted sub par cutscene with the janky animation and trollbane getting in front of a “killing blow” that had all the convincing emotions of a card board box the story has lost my interest out of embarrassment for what wow was and what it is now in name only.

That thing felt more like a written playground fight in grade school written by a kid locked in the house during covid than anything that wow was.

So off to play doom eternal, star wars fallen order survivor and robocop rogue city a d let my sub laps.
17 years was good but this game feels like a habit held tightly for time invested rather than actually having fun or enjoying it.

Maybe housing will make it worth playing but this
its just not feeling like what I started in 2007. Not sure what wow is but its losing that hold on me to the point its not hope or hate I have for the game, Its more like I dont really feel I care anymore about the story or the characters.

Maybe Im burned out. Ill take a few months off
play other stuff if I get the itch Ill return or like drawing Ill just not bother with it anymore as its just nothing interesting anymore.

Kudos.

Wasn’t Sparhawk’s horse named Faerin?

She not a bad character entirely. I like her voice actor, i enjoy the lighter side of her character. I think they could have made a stronger character if she was more of a priestess and more vulnerable to all of the violence around her. Then when anduin shows up they could have played off eachother better by growing to be less vulnerable while tackling the challenges around them. Before the nightfall campaign they could have had a cinimatic where she says shes done hiding when the alarm bells go off and attaches a shield to her arm stump. Would have been pretty cool

i looked it up and it’s spelled differently. (although I have never read those books sorry)

Hard to say, she is not a very compelling character. I like her as a “Tirion style” non-zealous Paladin, but I do not care about her too much as a character, if that makes sense.

Honestly, I’ve kinda felt that way about all characters this expansion, including the main ones: Alleria and Xal’atath, so I don’t know, I’ve just been struggling to feel invested in the story even though I was a massive lorebeard a few years back.
